Suggestions for Pool area

We have this empty space in our pool area and I'm not sure how to fill it. It's the spot right above the waterfall at the back of the pool. I originally thought flowers but my fiance' doesn't want the debris falling into the pool. He wanted to put these structures that have flames (gas flames) sort of like vertical fire pits. I don't want the flames that close to the lanai cage. He thinks it won't be an issue but all I see is the cage catching fire! Any suggestions of what we can put on here?

I need to work on my lanai too, but still have stuff to finish inside first. Your pool looks great.

This company does faux arrangements. Supposed to be in St. Pete's, but when I just googled they didn't seem to have an active website. I am sure you could order similar and make your own. They have more photos on Houzz.

I would be more inclined to use real plants outside.

Large beautiful pots filled with tropical foliage. They don't drop much and when the do drop a leaf it is large and easy to clean up. Assuming you are somewhere in the south split leaf philodendron, bird of paradise, one of the many versions of elephant ears...

faux greenery... look for something large from a commercial decor source.

This is a pretty traditional option for pool coping, and you could easily update it without doing anything to the coping itself. Are you wanting to give it a more modern vibe or just update it? If you are wanting a more modern look, it could be as simple as adding modern planters with plants that are symmetrical like the black planters in the image below. Stick with neutral colors and straight lines if modern is the vibe you are going for. If you are just looking to update the look and feel, depending on what already surrounds the pool you could build out the deck around the pool, add new patio furniture and a few plants, and it will feel like a whole new space. One ofour projects had a similar coping to yours, we built out the deck using different size pavers and added the modern black planter (behind the umbrellas and pool chairs).

All good suggestions so far : the only thing that I can add is that Bromeliads are incredibly hardy and quite beautiful - just be careful not to over-water them (a topup in the plants 'funnel' on a periodic basis should be plenty).

How about a pattern you like with colors that match your existing solids. Then you can mix and match. Looks like you've pretty much got beige and brown there now. Do you want something subtle or bold? Dark red or blue would be an option. A bolder accent color would draw the eyes to the space and make it look more inviting. As would maybe some bolder accents on the tables or walls. Like a big metal candle lantern or flower pot or metal sculpture on the wall. We got some garage sale nautical art to hand on our porch wall, under the roof of course but not fine art that will get ruined by a little weather. We even have a sign that says, "Welcome to the porch" and then lists all the fun things you can do there. Kitschy but makes the space look inviting.

Well, since it’s going to be in the single digits here tomorrow, I may need to head down and take a look at it myself. Maybe we can discuss it sitting poolside with a margarita? My treat. 😄

It's going to be "freezing" down here in FL, barely low 60's! A real hardship when you can't wear your flip-flops and need to dig out some closed shoes! 😁

Suggest a grouping of clay pottery (no need to fill), but also suggest adding flowering bushes outside and solar lighting. Similar feel as below (but plants outside).
