My PB told me that they are on the expensive side, there are others that are less expensive... where are you? We are in Dallas.

We are going to be landscaping around our new FG pool in a few days. The landscaper is putting a brick coping using Permacon Marina Pavers for the edge around the pool. We are then using a Brooklin paver for the pool deck. We poured a 1ft concrete footing tied with sono tubes for the pavers to sit on when they are connected to the fiberglass edge. We are also located in Southern Ontario and when we looked at pools last spring we saw a 4 yr old pool done with pavers and it looked great. We saw a 1.5yr old pool with a concrete deck that didn't fair so well in the climate changes. A lot of cracking and movement. What we like about the pavers is that if they do move they can be fixed without a major tear out job. Our landscaper will come back up to 3 yrs after and fix any shifting as part of our contract. I think the key to any job is proper installation, whether it be concrete or pavers. Someone who knows what they are doing and have done work around pools before. Here ya go! Built this one a few years back. It was part of a "Tour of Pools" for a gated community in the Atlanta area this past summer.

I don't have any experience with marble. I'm in the Northeast and a concern with marble to me in the temp swings, is any issues with moisture getting into the fine natural fissures in the material, possibly causing damage. I don't know your location. Granite is another consideration, but it may have not be a true white. It's nice material but a bit pricey. Sealers can sometimes change color appearance after applied. I would try a test piece and let it dry before moving forward on sealing the material installed.
