I love the silver and glass with the navy. The wood brings warmth. I personally think it’s a good combination.

also, i do not like anything simulated. thst is a real marble top and i have a real marble fireplace surround; i dont like mixing real and simulated. just my personal preference. id rather keep it to glass, wood wood, metsl mix.

Nora Lambert… you too ??? where do you see navy???!! 😂😂 the sideboard is a dark wood, with a sort of espresso/ burgundy tint in it the exact wood stsin was called black cherry. it was a custom piece we had made snd the too is a whitelite/ grey marble. where are you both seeing mavy blue??? lol I gotta get my glasses on and look at my pics again

Generally speaking glass tables take up less visual space..lighter weight tables are easier to move around when needed…unless they are right next to the cabinet i wouldn’t be concerned that they “match”…lastly tables with a bottom shelf offer lots of handy storage space for all sorts of things needed in a living room

Most importantly…pictures of the whole space will bring more specific advice..plus …flooring can/may also influence your choices

Design and decor are interactive…isolated decisions can deter… rather than enhance the overall result

Yes btydrvn, good points made. i am leanng towards glass coffee table for the reasons you mentironed ( lightrr, visually, open) as i plan to get an area rug and would like it to be seen.. i also thought nesting style tables would be good for extra needed space, placing a cup, holiday time for decor etc without disrupting the two end tables in which i plan to put lamps. if i dont do the round wooden nesting end tables , there are also the end tables that coordinate with the glass coffee table . they arent nesting end tables, bit they tiered.

if i do all the tables in glass, then i was considering doing a sofa table behind a loveseat in similar color wood , to tie in with color of the wood sideboard, and place these ottomans underneath for extra seating, footrest etc.

house is a disaster due to 2 major constructions going on- no LR pics at this time .here is the glads end table option that marhces the coffee table, and to tie in the sideboard wood, here is the console im considering

This is the only poc i can find of LR- things are all out olace in this pic. all furnitire except for sideboard sre eorher being relocated or getting rid of. fireplace surround is changed , window treatments changed, flooring is being refinished , but staying same

yes, youre correct, screens can skew colors very much and make it difficult to see accurately. on my end, i see it as it really is, so navy was the furthest from my mind. nothing you said offended me at all. confused me, yes, but no offense whatsoever. my apology if my response in wuestioning what you were talking about came off as being upset. i was laughing actually. 😊

Remember …the coffee table will get the most punishment..feet up on top..dishes ..cups..etc…so use a table that is sturdy with thick glass..even a wood frame..the glass tiered table looks good, but is a little delicate?..personally i love a console table behind a couch with seating facing the tv…as we eat there and use it to multitask…watch tv and work on I-pad or even skim thru magazines…mail,etc…..especially when watching programs with too many commercials🤷🏼‍♀️

Our decor is more “collected” so i love finding old benches for seating facing the tv

yes, some peope use a console lole that and is a great idea, but There will be no tv in the room. tv was just moved temporarily to the sideboard .

Sorry Molly D , drives me nuts too. for whatever reason, there is a horrible delay when i tyoe on houzz, and it will kickback and chsmge spelling, overlap words etc. cant stand it and dont know how to make it stop doing that . frustrating !!!

The picture should help so no one has to guess your situation…how many people do you normally seat in this room?..do you use or want to use the fireplace?

We see this type of room dilemma so often on Houzz…in your case the seating seems less conducive to interaction ….with the seating not facing each other?..does the arrangement serve your needs for the use of this room?

Four of us live here, but if we have guests can be 8-10 people.

Thats funny you mentioned a secrional…. when i posted here a few months back saying inwas considering a secrional, i didnt have a single person agree with my idea. was shot down about it numerous times figured im clearly in the wrong for considering one, so i went looking for individual seating—- sofa, loveseat , chairs.

now im asking about the tables, as i moved on from the secrional idea

Too bad..this is a journey ,for sure…so much of the problem is …we don’t always know when to follow our instincts…in spite of other convincing views…when i built our summer home no one understood my choices….that was over 20 years ago…still love it… accomplished just what i wanted…a relatively small home…that feels like a mini-mansion to me..to this day..

Judianna20 posters are free to posts however often they like. When doing multiple projects at once, yes, thete is a need to post several different questions simultaneously. There isnt anything wrong with that

why would you assume i didnt like the help? I posted on those posts asking questions about furniture arrangement/ layoutit. I received advice, and listened to the advice. There were excellent suggestions made .

This post is asking specifically about pairing / coordinating of accent tables; a completely different and very specific question. If you feel overwhelmed by the number of posts a member submits, there is no pressure or mandate to respond to them . Thank you .

Your post and replies are hard to read and follow with the numerous spelling and grammar/formatting errors, plus the off-putting way you respond to others. Rather than respond harshly to someone who sees your console table as blue (as I did also), you could have clarified and stated the correct finish of the piece. That would have moved this along without making others feel insulted.

For some reason, when i type on hoizz, there is a delay and the typing does a kickback and overlaps letters. its very fristrating snd dificiilt to type anything properly spelled. i cant figure out why it does it or how to fix it. i try to correct as much as I can manually, bur even then, it will jam and i give up trying to fix typos. Its distracting to me too .

my respnses were not meant to be harsh, or insulting i was asking where the color navy was being seen , as 2 people in a row commented about it. I was finding it funny, not upsetting , and i did explain that, and even apologized for any misunderstanding.
