What color/style sideboard would go with our table?

Looking to add a sideboard to our basement t o store board games and puzzles but having a hard time figuring out what colors/styles would go with our table.

Where are you planning to put it ?I am nor seeing space where the table is but maybe on the wall on the right not in that indent at all. As for color or style I need to see the whole space not just that table.

I'd go for a console/buffet that has some texture on the doors. Something like this, perhaps?

Depending on the width of that little alcove on the short side of the table, you could do something similar with 3 doors instead of two.

What wall paint color would go with this unusual living room?

Enjoy it? :) I preferred the couch on the left wall (art could breathe) but as long as there's seating that allows for optimal music appreciation and conversation, what's wrong, really? Perhaps simply accept that this room will evolve with your needs and be an actual "living" room and not a "look-at-me-everything-is-in-a-perfect-spot" room? Is there comfortable seating for everyone, a reachable spot for each person to set down a drink or a book? Navigable paths to seats and anything that needs futzing (e.g. curtains)? Yes? Well, bravo then. You have a functional living room. That's the primary goal room for the room. If you're so inclined, keep tweaking the layout until you're both smiling but figure out why you think it looks odd now. It'll be easier to pinpoint what needs changing. For example, I'd prefer more symmetry on the fireplace wall and would want the art on that wall to be around the same size. I might also consider putting some books and records (?) on that wall (as long as they're reachable). Then again, I wouldn't want every wall covered because then the room feels a bit claustrophobic to me. Really depends on you. Regardless, it's obvious the art, books and music in your eclectic living room are meant to be enjoyed so bravo for that. :)

@Patricia Colwell Consulting was thinking of putting it on the wall to the right of the table that has the tree (not window wall)

The other side of the table looks like this and the rest of the room only has a dark gray leather sectional.

how wide is that wall to the right?

I would put a large canvas print in the alcove... to fill it. keep it simple

Something tall on that right wall, with plenty of closed storage.

I'd do a light paint, cream color, you already have enough dark with the wood and leather.

A couple of these side by side would lighten your dark gray room. Or the colorful one below with some great posters in primary colors to lighten the space.

I assume you've tried to center the table under ceiling lighting, which appears very inadequate, especially if it is only a ceiling fan with light kit. I suggest you use that ceiling electric to install extended, adjustable track lighting that will cover more of your walls and the table top. Be sure to adjust one of the lights to wash the wall in the recess for your sideboard and art. Looks like you have an outlet there to add a nice table lamp.
