Screen porch concrete floor

We recently bought an older home that has a large screen porch with smooth concrete floor. When we have rain or fog the floor gets wet from condensation. We may eventually enclosure it as a sunporch, but, in the meantime, need to find a way to deal with it because it gets slick and we could slip and fall. If anyone has suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Sealer? Astroturf or another floor covering that would hold up to the moisture without mildewing?

One day when it is dry, use Non-Slip Tape. Easily removed if and when you want to put a floor covering over the concrete.

Yes you can do a 1/4" overlay on top of your existing porch. You have to prep the original concrete and apply a bonder then the overlay material. Be sure to follow mixing and water instructions carefully to end up with good results. You can texture or color it any way you want. Did he use a moisture barrier under his concrete when he poured it? That might be the key here to a successful concrete floor for your application.

What kind of finish does your concrete have?...what does hubby not like about stained concrete?...will attach a pic of our floors...used stain that was about $60 per gallon...just spread it around ...no expertise or experience needed...added a coat of sealer for shine...this was an indoor application and the green was not recommended for outdoor applications but the finish takes it up many notches from concrete...won’t peel off like paint and looks like a real stone floor....

In my area that’s normal on patios and in garages. It’s to keep water from rotting wood, drywall, etc. I would have the concrete (floor part and side) acid stained. Kemiko is my go-to brand, but there are lots of other choices now, too.

Bead blast or use a grinder. Gluing to a smooth surface is not easy as the adhesive has nothting to grab, so roughing the surface should be performed in, in the future, you adhere a finished floor down. BUT, I put a coating on my floor and put plastic beads into the coating while still wet.

My carport does that when the humidity is high. It also has polished concrete floor. I have a stack of throw rugs, that I put down out there, until the sweating is done. It doesnt happen all that often. There is a sitting area out there too, but, that has indoor/outdoor carpet, so is no problem.
