My preference is to match the trim to the cabinets. Otherwise you’re introducing another shade of white and risk them clashing. Pure White is a great color. It’s slightly off white, but doesn’t look yellow or pink. My guess is that it would look great with that quartz, but have a sample painted and look at them together. It’s possible that the quartz is too “cool” for the pure white, and in that case you need to reevaluate. (I would choose different quartz or repaint all the trim to match whatever cabinets you decide on).

Factory finished cabinets are almost always preferred to site finished -- which will you have?

Did you already paint the doors and trim? If so I agree, match them to avoid the potential clash.

However...If your countertop has a tint to it (yellow, pink etc), which you can only see in person, not on a computer monitor, this could all go sideways so consider looking at that. Easier to change door/trim color than cabinet color...

PPF, The cabinet maker will paint at the factory. They will paint my color of choice.

You have a cabinet maker or you are ordering from a cabinet company? Usually cabinet companies have set colors so make sure you can do any one you like. If this is an actul cabinet maker usually they do have the equipment to do the same finish as you get from the factory .IMO you choose the cabinets first then the counter then the backspalsh and finally wall color. I aslo would look at real stone for the counter instead of fake plastic stone

Patricia, I assume you are talking granite vs quartz. We are going with the quartz to get a whiter look. Went with granite in a previous home and it was a lengthy process. The quartz is more uniform. We are going with MSI New Calacuta Laza Quartz for counter tops and backsplash. Anew gray on the walls. Thanks for your help and Merry Christmas!

Probably the whiter the better. We used Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace in this kitchen for the upper and tall cabinets:

And yes, the wall/trim color should match the cabinets, so if the white you've already painted works with your counters, do that.
