Maybe post a pic of what you want . My guess is the tile you are thinking of is real tile not vinyl. Or it is glue down. Have you checked out Marmoloeum it is gue down but it can be done is any number of color choices. the only other thing I can think of is to order blue tiles and white tiles from the same place and mix them your self. I am not sure who might carry those colors.

I am looking for a pattern, not just alternating blue and white. I attached a couple inspiration pictures below. Yes, i can find it in ceramic tile, I am just shocked that it isn't available in a vinyl tile given the popularity of vinyl plank and tile. I don't want somethjng adhesive. If we can’t find what we are looking for in an interlocking vinyl tile I will just switch to white.

Those are cement tile so look under that heading .They are actual tile with grout .

I don't think you will find this in a floating floor / click together flooring. Even the number of click together stone look tiles are becoming more and more rare - seems everyone want LVP that looks like wood.

I know those are actual tiles, not vinyl, that is why I didn't just buy them. You asked me to post a picture of what I want. I want that type of look/pattern in blue and white in vinyl tiles with a floating installation. No peel and stick or glue down. I was hoping by posting here someone could point me in the right direction, but I have about decided it just doesn't exists in vinyl. I found one pattern at home depot but don't like it. Everything else I find is peel and stick.

That is what i am finding Jennifer. I am shocked because I had no trouble finding a lot of selection in vinyl tiles 5 years ago and now there is so much less, but yet so many more people are gojng that direction. You are righy that everything is wood look now. i just never expected that! I really don't want the expense of removing the existing floor and laying tile bjt i can't find anything I like at all. It is either wood look or marble look.

You may find a sheet vinyl with this type of pattern.

This is for a laundry room. I don’t know anything about loose lay. I just looked at it. It may work. I need to see if it can be installed over an existing floor.

Current floor is ceramic tile. We need a solution because we are changing the room from an office to a laundry room and will be removing a closet, which will leave floor where the walls were uncovered without tile. We were hoping to not have to rip the whole thing up.

I haven’t seen those aduraapex tiles. That does look like it would work, I had wanted blue and white though. I’ll look through their optjons. Thanks.

You will need to remove your existing ceramic tile and then your best bet is new porcelain tile if you want that exact look

You can lay a floating vinyl floor over existing ceramic tile. It will have to be prepped, and leveled where the wall comes down, but it doesn’t have to be removed. That is one of the benefits of using the vinyl.

Loose lay can go over just about anything. It is a thick product, heavy, and cut to fit. Your flooring store can share more information about it.

Judianna20 - it looks like loose lay is basically just sheet vinyl, is that correct? I will look at it. You are right that it looks like you can get a lot more patterns. I was really hoping for the look of tile. I worry that sheet ginyl hurts resale, but i could be wrong. It is easily changed out.

IMO sheet vinyl in a laundry room would be great asset and looselay is I think a great answer but the tile will telegraph through even the thickest vinyl flooring. I have loose lay in my basement bathroom it was awesome to lay and has stood up well for 15 yrs no issues. If you can find one you love go for it but I would put down at least some thin plywood before install.

Put a self leveler on the tile to fill in the grout joints and make it more level. That should work with looselay.

ABC - my contractor said he has something he can put down to bring the floor level to the tile and it will be fine. I have used him for multiple projects over a 15 year period including a whole first floor remodel with moving doors and windows and taking down walls and I trust him 100%. If he says we can do it then I trust we will be fine.

Self leveler isn’t designed to fill in huge thicknesses, or to go over smooth tiles. The whole thing has to be ground down for tooth, to apply a leveler. In multiple layer pours. It will crack and crunch if it isn’t done correctly. It is not being described as being done correctly.

Removing the tile should be cheaper than grinding down the tile and applying leveler, if the contractor knows what he is doing. It doesn’t really sound like he does know what he is doing though.

I never said he was grinding anythjng down or applying a self lever. He is putting somethjng in the spots without tile to bring it to the level of the existing tile. As for applying vinyl planks or tiles over existing tile, the products instructions state it is a valid installation method and people do it all the time.

Quite honestly, I’m not looking for input on how to do the project, I was looking for help finding the pattern I wanted in vinyl tiles. As I said, we have used this contractor for over a decade on multiple houses and wouldn’t use anyone else. I have even had city inspectors compliment his work and and say how much better it is than most of the contractors they inspect. I trust him completely. We are good.
