Design Dilemma Bathrooms

We are in the middle of a whole house rennovation. So far everything has turned out great. But….I hate the counters we had installed in our bathroom. We chose a light grey vanity, our plan was a large dark grey hexagon tile for the floor. We couldn’t find a counter top we liked and finally went with a remnant of Fantasy Brown granite. In the stone yard the slab looked like a warm grey, but installed it looks awful! It is really green.

What colors will pull the grey/black tones from the stone and make it appear less green? Help! I don’t want to hate my brand new bathroom until we can afford to redo it again in many many years!

nothing is modern farmhouse. why don't you wait to do it all at once? You have ORB faucets, will those be staying? Have you looked at the type of design you want? do you have any inspo pics? because if mod. farm. is what you want, everything in that room needs to go. all of these could fit your design

I offered a layout with private vanities and walk-ins but I must say, I like my first layout: - No risk of locking some out; - Long continuous counter top (I think teenage girls would prefer that over a small private vanity); - I like the deck at the end of the tub to keep toys (or all kind of different products when they get older); - All doors are 30" wide; - More storage in closet; - More spacious overall; - More natural light; - I like a J&J in this format. One teenage girl can do her make-up while the other is in the shower. A S posted the layout in her house that is similar to the one I drew and she said it works like a charm. - I think sharing the vanity is just one other way to get siblings closer and learn the values of patience, compromise and sharing. Note that a custom order of a 2'4" wide door for the bathroom's door would be a little better (even though it does not change the space in front of the toilet) and I would slide the door the other way to be able to mount a toilet paper holder on the right wall".

I work in apartments that have small bathrooms plus I bought a 1950s house that has a small bathroom. I love the first white bathroom with the smaller white vanity. Depending on the budget, you have options. First thing is clean out everything you do not use. Those boxy vanities are nice but in most of them they are just a box with a bottom shelf. Do you think you could downsize to an 18/19 inch? The clear glass shower stall is a plus. Illusion is part of this picture. I love a nice bathroom but realistically you don't spend a lot of time in there. Lots of factors go into updating bathrooms. I wish you the best and would love to see a before and after.

Looks gorgeous, but of course it has lighter (and greener) tones than the vanity. You can't "neutralize" a color, but if you don't push it (by, say, pairing it with pinks that push it more green), then it will not be so obvious. So find a wall color that comes from the creams in the top, or a gray with a greenish undertone to make that tone disappear a bit.

We used SW Sea Salt with our Fantasy Brown kitchen, but our stone is much lighter than yours.

Paint the vanity white? Or paint it a deep charcoal. Or paint is the DEEPEST/DARKEST warm green Or replace the top.

Not the worst possible mistake in a lifetime. Why hate the end result, with a "make it work..."?

Paint on the vanity is the cheapest solution. : )

The best trick my interior designer friend taugh me is to pick a mid-tone color from your vanity and paint the walls that color. That "should" help lessen the impact of the vanity.

It looks beautiful! I agree with @Norwood pick a mid tone-color from the vanity for the walls. Add art, hand towels, etc. It will be beautiful
