J&K Cabinet Match

We are in the middle of a tight budget remodel and are unhappy with a countertop cabinet configuration. We purchased from J&K due to budget issues but they do not have the size cabinet we need to finish our project. Has anyone used a custom cabinet maker to match existing cabinetry? We realize this will add to our cost but we want it to look right. We need a 24w 18h 12d wall cabinet shaker white.

You have provided no context that would explain the conditions you have.

Cabinets from China, huh?

You'll need to at least get the door/s from JC. A good carpenter will be able to retrofit a cabinet depending on the material available. You'll NEVER GET A COLOR MATCH from another cabinet shop and they'd be crazy to help you because the odds of success are against them.

BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK I decided to go with J&K because we love the quality and price one of our friends got for these cabinets 3 years ago. Unfortunately, fast forward 3 years and apparently their quality has gone down hill. We should have taken more recent reviews we read into consideration. See sampling of my pictures which speaks for itself. When we opened our shipment, we immediately notices cracked wood and visible staples on the cabinets. Becoming super paranoid on the quality, we inspected every cabinet carefully and did not find one acceptable one to keep.

I know it's the same color, I just pointed out that they look like four different ones to me:) Think how it changes with light, than it gets filtered by your lense, then it gets on my monitor.. Cabinets also look differently in different lights, on your pictures. That's how it is. I also love warm colors, and my cabinets are taupe, very warm -they can even read brownish in a certain light, and that's when I love them the most. ( And I chose this color for a very long time-everything seemed too cool to me) But in some other times, in certain light, they do become slightly cooler. It's normal. At night it doesn't even matter what color they are lol. No light-no color. I think you need to give yourself a full day or day and a half to look at the color. This, or another one. Make several bigger samples, move them around. I usually pick up small swatches in a store, staple my favorite ones in a notebook, deliberate over them (probably look funny as hell)), ..pick the ones I love the most..can be something unexpected too...narrow down to three or four..then make big samples I can move around in the room next to this and that. And I agree, you're trying too hard to match, while you probably mean: "to work together"

It looks like they make this size cabinet with a glass panel door. It would probably be easier and more cost-effective to get this cabinet and just replace the glass with an mdf panel. Take it to the paint store for a color/finish match.

Beverly-I can get the box made I just can’t find the doors. I have a cabinet stack on a counter that cannot exceed 90 inches. My original plan was 2 small drawers stacked with a 36inch upper. It didn’t look right once we got the cabinets in the space. The best solution is a 36 inch upper with an 18 in on top of it. That way it blends with the 18inch over the fridge that it is adjacent to.

Kristin- I was at the warehouse just today and they don’t have the 18inx24 with the glass doors even though it’s in the catalog. That was my first thought of a solution.

Not quite sure of the location but what about getting the box built with a wine rack front? something like this but the correct size

Look at their drawer fronts on a 3 drawer base, 18" Wide. You might get lucky.This is the size of KraftMaid's bottom drawer: RDW1812 12 x 17 5/8” . You could get two and convert them to doors. I have actually done this before. You'll need someone who can drill out the hinge pocket. My installer has that tool whatever it is. Or rig up some other kind of hinge.
