I know this thread is really old, but can anyone comment on Franklin Furniture? Made in Houston, MS. We just purchased a sectional sofa from them with power recliners, lights, and massage/vibrating chairs. It will be delivered in 9 days and we have 30 days to return it for a refund. I'm usually a big researcher and am kind of freaking out now because I didn't do my homework and know nothing about Franklin. The salesman assured us it was a good quality, in line with Lazy Boy - but really, what is he going to say? This stuff is junk?? Can anyone put my mind at ease?

There is a reason why French polishers charge a fortune, and this is it. A very difficult and time consuming process to master. Cabinet finishing and polishing apprentices require years to get this right in the U.K. There are many different colors of shellac. Knowing which one to use and achieving the deep mirror like finish requires the building up of many many PERFECTLY applied coats. Personally, I think this is not one for DIY, especially with a valuable antique as your guinea pig. Just my opinion.

Hi Fairway Style Living, Thank you again for taking the time to help me! If I use the full width rod right across the window what happens is that it will have to be slightly higher than the actual shutters, otherwise I will not be able to open them (I don't open them much, but need to do for window cleaning, etc.). Part of what you see is the 2.5" frame of the shutter. Won't having it right across the shutter cut into the look of the architecture by having the darker colour go right through it? That is a very good point regarding the colour of the rod. I was going with the champagne so that it would go with the bookshelf that is in the room directly across (my office) from the dining room. There is a point where you can see into each of them at the same time so I thought I had to coordinate :). The hardware on the unit is champagne. I am meeting with the drapery person this week to pick another rod, so I can absolutely go with our suggestion and not change it. (That will make her very happy). However I would like to see what you say about the rod going directly across the white shutters and up slightly therefore it will go across the actual window part. I like the idea very much of the height of the drapes being at the base of the fanlight. I am not sure about the rod cutting through the shutters though?? Can you just confirm your thoughts on that part for me.

Hi, I live in Canada and I'm looking to buy new furniture (sofa, dinette table, chairs, coffee table and rug). I would like something well built and that can last at least 6years. So far I like EQ3 but I have no idea about the quality. Any recommendation is welcomed
