The right end is a chaise - generally meant to be laying on with your feet up, so an end table isn't really appropriate there. A C table like in the Bachelor Pad pic above is more appropriate.

Here's how you can accessorize your sectional not only with the side table shown on the left but with a vintage area rug, coffee table and contemporary wall art!

I would add a rug and then walnut finished tables. Since the sofa sectional is so very square I would contrast it with round elements.

Your sectional, floor and walls are neutral color, so any colors would work with it.

Some option to go of 50 shades of beige to bring some bright colors.

That “low end” is for sitting forward and playing video games so your elbows are not hampered by an arm rest. If you are not gaming, you can lounge on that section like it is a chaise and put nothing on the end because that is where your feet would be. If you need to seat more people than you have seats for - and someone doesn’t mind having zero back support - a “C” table is appropriate as others suggested

Thank you all for your help. Love these ideas. The problem is to the right is my dining room table which is also so grey so I’m trying to break it up with something in between? Like I can’t just leave it empty.

Visually separate the DR and LR by putting a rug under the sectional like Celery showed you, and a compatible rug in the DR. Leave the flat end of sectional “as is” as a chaise.

Your sectional is visually weighty (solid base, puffy arm rest, puffy back cushions, tufted seating), so you can do either weighty solid coffee table or leggy coffee table, depending on what your DR table and chairs look like. Side table is not needed if the coffee table is with reach of everyone seated (12-18 inches from sofa).

You can also visually separate the rooms by strategically placing art on the walls. You can break up all the gray by adding 1 or 2 accent colors via art, toss pillows, sofa throw, DR window treatment, table centerpiece or place mats, etc.

Can you explain what you mean by weighty coffee table vs leggy , depending on dining room? My DR table and chairs are very leggy so how do I choose?

Also the front door is to the left right before the left side handle of the couch so it seems odd to put a little table there, that’s why I was hoping to put something on other side. Is there really no furniture option besides c table that could fit?

I wasn’t so clear before. The couch is in the attached room now, not in the first pic. So it feels empty on the back wall to the right of it.

Thank you. I literally have nothing and am losing my mind from trying to settle on anything. All I know is I’m sick of grey hit everything is grey so I’m looking to lighten up and warm up the room with some wood, some greenery etc but I can’t figure out a carpet color and what furniture matches. @Hannah, you have a great start with neutral floors, walls, sectional, DR table and chairs! Who will primarily use this room (include pets)? What activities will primarily be done? How do you primarily wish to feel in the room (calm, feather-light, formal, intellectual, excited, cozy, adventurous, inspired, moody, glamorous, playful, rooted, world traveled, edgy, hugged by sentimental items on display, etc?). What color combinations give you that vibe? Do you have enough lighting for the activities? Enough and the the right kind of storage for activities?

@marylut great questions. Children and babies primarily use the room so it can’t be too delicate or have a light carpet. I want to feel calm, warm and homey. That’s why I want to get rid of the grey feeling and add some natural wood. I need more storage always and was hoping to find pieces that hold that.

I think that to suggest anything useful other than colour of carpet and coordinated accessories, and light wood tables, etc., we need more photos of you room or rooms, or a floor plan, in order to suggest anything useful about more storage and perhaps suggest a better layout for your space.

A small side table won’t allow for much storage, so consider more practical storage within a coffee table. Search on line to help identify a table and price that meet your needs. Also important at this stage is to identify the overall look and feel you want and start saving ideas before purchasing anything.

You could do with lightning and a floor lamp and a basket for toys/books on the end would be practical.

Decide on a color scheme and look for a rug; a distressed style is always a good choice with young children.

Lastly, consider cushions and art.

If kiddos eat and drink and spill in LR, a patterned multicolored polypropylene rug with hide almost anything until you can spot clean the stain. For calm and cozy and coordinated with the gray, consider a tan and gray rug, no fringe, low pile. Size the rug so the sectional and new coffee table and any side chair(s) fit completely on it, or so the rug fits snug up against the inside of sectional and side chairs fit on it. One more question, I have this rug that I never liked because the pink isn’t the colors I’m going for. Is there any hope to use it and still incorporate this light wood coffee table look and natural Cozey warm vibe or I for sure need a new rug?

If you and kiddos often snack in LR, look for lift top storage coffee table. To warm up the gray, look for warm wood tones like light golden brown or milk chocolate brown. For calm vibe, avoid open shelves so you don’t see the clutter. Size it about 3/4 the length of your sectional so it is within 12 to 18” reach of the seat.

Pink and red generally have opposite vibe of calm, especially the intensity of that pink. Try selling it on social media To fund a rug you love.

If you have 4 ft between wall and back of the sectional, you can add more storage with a sofa table. Also check out console tables (which are usually taller and narrower than sofa tables. Make sure the height is as tall or a few inches lower than back of sectional, but not taller. Don’t buy the set to the coffee table, but get one in a similar style to the coffee table, and it can be painted ivory or off-white to warm up the gray without adding more brown. If you use a natural wood tone, then stay in same general tone as the coffee table. Add sturdy baskets (the rough texture adds coziness) to stow toys, off-season sofa throws/pillow covers for toss pillows.

The best choice for a coffee table with children afoot is an ottoman style - if you are planning to use a coffee table. These small ottomans (shown below) also have storage; you could use one as an end table. And this rug is washable. You could also just drape a throw on the sofa, could be nice.

You said you didn’t really like the pink in the rug, so I wouldn’t use it there…..you want a warmer feeling, so go with warmer tones: warm greens, oranges, some yellow…..it all depends on your style and color preferences. (That pink/black is very cold.) Since you have young children, look up FLOR….they have tons of options and you can replace or wash individual “tiles”. There are plenty of upholstered storage ottomans out there, you’ll find something. I agree that it’s time to add something other than gray….there’s enough of that already in floor, walls and sofa.
