I just want to say that I received my Crossville Buenos Aires Mood in Polo (the lightest color, sort of light pearl gray) in textured 12 by 12 with polished 6 by 6 pieces for accents and I love it much more than I would have expected. It has some color variation but is not at all busy and it looks like a perfect floor. I really had no desire to try to mimic stone (I wanted either real stone or tile that looked like tile) but these tiles are surprising me in how good they look--like a floor that's been around a long time, like old stone, but with the benefit of being porcelain! Eventually I'll post a picture, but just wanted to express my enthusiasm for what I thought would be a compromise but turned out to be a great decision!

I have seen repair kits sold at the hardware store. I think it's a two-part or epoxy filler. You can sand them down. You sound use a block sander to get a corner. I don't know about getting it to be a butter pecan color. It's probably a shade of white. However, for 50 bucks I wouldn't be bothered by the discoloration. 3' is quite a large chunk so make sure you read the back of the box to see how large of an area it can fill. On the other hand, I see those tops at the salvage store and craigslist all the time. Odds are another one in better condition may show up!

What people often do is to cut or have cut a rectangular piece, say 2" x 12", to attach to the bottom of the bullnose. So it becomes a rounded edge with an attached overhang. You don't even necessarily have to do that, if you are going for angles--you could just polish the outer edge of the countertop piece and attach the 2" overhang piece on that. It would be an angle, then, as opposed to a curve.

hi we have it in one of bathrooms, and love it, but like most marbles its something that needs sealing. I am not sure if its used as much for kitchens and not sure if its a softer or harder marble but i would find out first before making a big investment. Overall we haven't had a big problem with scratches or chips but in few spots it has happened our marble guy gave us this great little pen that you can touch it up with. Of course a bathroom gets much less use than a kitchen. It is a beautiful stone though.
