What backsplash with cream cabinet/antique brown granite?
Comments (8)oohh, I love your kitchens! Thank you for sharing:) Remodelfa, the samples I carried home were all tumbled cream stone with pink undertones...I realized after looking here that that's probably contributing to the problem: the shiny dark granite is not working with the tumbled stone. I think I need to look at the polished tiles, or the crackled tiles. Lissa's kitchen is beautiful; her colours are very similar to mine. LOL, Rhome - when I was envisioning my kitchen last winter, I always thought of baked goodies when I thought of the colours:cream with chocolate frosting, chocolate with vanilla frosting (for the island)! Weedyacres - couldn't find "matte" subway tiles like yours but this is what I initially had in mind. Jeannie kitchen - beautiful insert tile (and I'm loving your stove) Thank you to everyone who kindly responded:)...See MoreTan brown granite countertops - need suggestions for backsplash
Comments (16)I like glass tiles and tumbled: I believe it all depends on the look you are going for in your house: also: budget! Glass is expensive: But I love it! I would rather have the granite I want: and have that stand out: and not my splash. I would want all eyes on my granite. That is my opinion. With Tan brown granite: I can see that the splash could stand out more vs. the granite. Picture posted looks great! That splash is way more eye catching vs the Tan brown granite Best wishes!...See MoreGreen Granite Counter w Green Backsplash?
Comments (66)earn44 - I am very impressed w Fireclay. Not only is the tile beautiful, but their customer service has been great so far, cheap samples, fast shipping, and personal emails to ask about my project. I am adjusting my pricing expectations and thinking that $35/sq ft isn't so bad! Thanks everyone for talking me out of the shapes, that saves $10/sq ft! Speaking of Fireclay, I'm back on board w Kelp potentially, I've been reading through many of the Craftsman kitchen threads on here and lunarlab's kitchen thread. The Kelp pic she posted on this thread is one of the many in her reveal thread, and shows the color quite differently. Hope you don't mind me posting this lunarlab, it is gorgeous! pippiep - I read through your threads on tile, I feel like you've saved me so much work and samples! I like the Leaf Peeper tile, but the Basil is just so much more vibrant and appealing to me. Checked out the Vermeere at Complete Tile, but paying for shipping is stopping me from ordering samples. Does anyone else balk at these silly expenses, that are so small in the scheme of things! More thoughts later ... thanks everyone for your ideas and feedback!...See MoreBlack granite counters with matching backsplash in leathered finish?
Comments (18)I have leathered antique brown granite. It is actually black despite the name. I really like it. You could have your perimeter counters installed and then decide after if you want to continue the black on the backsplash. You might find that it is too dark. One unexpected nice thing about the leathered finish is that at night, when the lights are on inside but it's dark outside, little shiny patterns appear when a place on the countertop catches the light just so. It's a nice little surprise. And I do find that it hides fingerprints pretty much 100%. On our island we have polished white macaubus quartzite. I like the contrast, but not everyone likes so many different finishes in a kitchen. Agree about the by-the-hour designer if you can find one that will do that. A few hours here and there from a designer when I was doing the kitchen was really helpful. I think over the course of the whole remodel, I had 3 meetings of about an hour each to choose materials, discuss some wonky things about the cabinets and make a decision, and then near the end to make some final finishing touch decisions....See MoreHALLETT & Co.
