Andersens woodwright do have more of a wood interior. The structural performance is higher on the original 400 series TW where as the woodwrights will let more air through. So if you want the looks, get woodwright. If you want better performance, get the other. Also the exteriors of the sashes are not perma shield vinyl cladding. Good luck

I'm a homeowner doing the same research you're doing on DHs. My Ultimate was priced about $470 and the Woodwright was under $350. I couldn't justify the cost of the Marvin window. Plus, with Marvin, I couldn't choose the contractor. Just recently I found the Andersen A-series. It's a line above the Woodwright and in my opinion it is a nicer window. It even has the slick tilt mechanism you're talking about. It is a little more expensive than the Woodwright but still much less than the Marvin Ultimate. We'll be placing our A-series order within the week. I think the A-series has only been out on the market for less than a year and it is only in certain parts of the country so far. I'm in NY and both builders supply companies and Home Depots have them. Good luck with your decision.

Sorry but 200 tilt are low grade garbage made to compete with the vinyl replacement market...... That is why they need sash locks, otherwise in a breeze the sashes would self tilt. Once you replace the entire unit including interior trim for the 200's which you wouldn't have to do with conversion kits there can't be but a couple of bucks difference. But the difference in quality is priceless. Good luck with the 200 tilts unless you have an excellent experienced installer you'll need it.

That's awfully nice of the Andersen rep to undermine one of their contractors as a general rule. If you have a competing bid and they are a professional shop, go with them. If you want a Home Depot bid, there isn't an entity out there that buys more Andersen than them so they would, in theory, have the best buy multiplier out there. That said, the rub on the big box stores is that you usually have a bit larger error variant to compete with vs. a more specialized window shop/contractor. If you know how to read a build sheet and are comfortable with it, feel free to go that route. I would imagine that there is probably a bit more rough handling of materials when you are talking about the scale and size of a big box store vs. a more window specialty shop too. Keep that in mind.
