Help?! Frameless shower glass install help needed ASAP
Comments (11)Thanks folks- We got the fixed panel installed today, and it looks great. Man it was stressful though!!! I think I drove poor DH crazy with having to stop every few minutes to carefully think through the next step, and arrange wood/towels/bubblewrap on every hard surface in sight! But its in, plumb and square and looks great. UNFORTUNATELY........ the fabricator seems to have sent the wrong hinges for the door. They seem to be the self-closing 90-degree type, and we needed the adjustable ones for the angled door. Of course they are closed until Tuesday, argh!! (This after they also forgot the setting blocks -which I luckily was able to find at a glass store that was open on Saturdays- so I am not sure I will recommend them. We'll see how they handle the hinge thing. Maybe we are just not seeing how they'd adjust, but I dont think so...) Anyway, I should have been showering in my new shower tonight, but looks like I will have to wait another week! On the plus side- we did not upgrade to Starfire glass (it wasn't offered and I did not think to ask) and after reading about it on GW here, I was worried about the green glass color, but it turns out it looks really, really great with the other palette in the room :) Tomorrow: vanity install! lennym: let me see how this company handles the hinge issue and then I'll post about them. They were the cheapest online vendor I found; maybe in this case you get what you pay for? They've been responsive and helpful thus far, though, and I know they are in the process of moving their showroom this weekend, so it may be a one-time honest mistake......See Moretub to be used w/ a shower - need help
Comments (26)missliss, It looks like what you are looking for is what I am getting in my newly remodeled bathroom, in progress. It is the Jason, Forma collection... 5' x 32" 20.5" deep. It will have a tile flange on 3 sides for use in an alcove with a planned shower. The front will be tiled. Right now I am trying decide where to have the gab bars installed around the tub for getting in and out of it. I will have a few extra inches at the side of the tub that will be tiled and plan to sit down to get in & I guess out (?) Right now the bathroom is one empty room with wall studs only or I would post a photo. I should beable to in about a month! I should have come here sooner with questions. This has been a really trying time for me trying to decide what I wanted and what was practical. After a few weeks of making decisions and changing them, I am finally staying with my decisions. Especially because everything is ordered now. Good luck!...See MoreNeed help measuring shower
Comments (3)What type of shower door is it (bipass, hinged, etc)? By three dimensions he is asking for width, height and thickness I would assume and depending on what type of unit it is any hardware preps need to be provided as well as and and all prep work MUST be done before tempering. I would look into having a local glass company price the replacement as well and they should be able to send someone to the house to measure as well (nominal charge if they are not going to install the panel)....See MoreHelp with shower dimensions for no door
Comments (0)I'm looking for advice about shower dimensions that won't require a door. It's a new build so dimensions aren't set in stone yet but what do you think of this layout. Is the L snap necessary or would a rectangle with the opening st the far wall be okay. I want a rain head and both jets and a handheld on the top wall. A bench in the bottom corner. thanks...See MoreKarenseb
