I really wanted to drop pendants, but I'm not very tall and my husband is over 6' so I went for function over form and these lights offer a very even, flattering light. After searching Kirklands, (thinking I would silver leaf them), RH, and ordering custom made from www.pictureframes.com, I decided to call a local glass fabricator. These are 28 x 44 and cost $105 each. They have picture frame hooks on the back. Mine were made with a bevelled border. The glass people said customers often buy pictures at TJ Maxx, remove the picture, and replace it with a mirror. It's pretty inexpensive to do. You might also like the "Hovan" Mirror from Horchow. I have that in my powder room and just love it. google it, lots of other sites have it as well, and it's always on sale someplace. Let me know what you think. The fixture over the tub had to meet height regulations, and I purchased this as a semi-flush mount. This model also converted to a hanging fixture, and I only used a few links since the ceiling was high enough to allow it to be hung that way. Great ideas upthread. In case it wasn't stressed enough: measure your space carefully and consider scale when furnishing your rooms. I had a look at your ideabook. I see a lot of wood and white, simple shapes, a homey vibe with natural elements including stone, lots of light. The colour palette is mostly neutral with hits of blue, green and black. Subtle texture with mostly matte or velvet finishes, minimal gloss or shine. Nothing is overly bright or glam. Nothing is stark or industrial either. You can break your head and find a word to describe your style to help you online shop or you can just focus on the feelings you're looking to create in your home and seek elements that evoke those for you. Hiring a designer is often a great idea but you need a healthy budget to go that route. Lots of great free resources out there if you can spare the time to educate your eye and learn the basics. YouTube has a plethora of stylists, decorators and DIYers with great ideas for renters. Apartment Therapy is another great source. ETA: Do I start with rugs? Curtains? Furniture? Do I go room by room? Start with fulfilling your immediate living needs (sleep, eat, etc.) then finish decorating room by room. You get a stronger sense of accomplishment and pride when a room is "done" than when every room is in a state of "progress". Which room is done first depends on what you want. There's no right or wrong for this stuff. It's about what makes the most sense to you, your budget, energy and time. HTH. Good luck and feel free to share pics.

Gotta thank you Teeda!! That rug is just like the one my puppy ruined, so I would like a replacement. So maybe I was wrong, maybe my rug is sisal. I have been looking and looking for one with a BLACK border. Previously all the ones I found had the beige border. I have so loved the rug and it goes perfectly with the Japanese vibe in my home. Thanks again! Now, on topic, I will say that the selection of "indoor/outdoor" rugs is amazingly vast, compared to what I remember from earlier times. I think that is because more and more folks are taking a pass on wall to wall carpet, for at least one reason. The indoor outdoor rug that I put over our cream colored family room carpet has held up well to the puppy, she is less inclined to chew it because it doesn't have the appealing loose edges . . . although she does have the annoying habit of rubbing her face along the carpet and seeking out any gaps in the coverage of the area rugs, so as to rub right on the light cream berber . . . sigh. For a small dog, our Josie is remarkably destructive and we try and try every strategy to make her a good home citizen. About 60% of the time she is fine, but then she thinks of new ways to be naughty. We try to keep her busy and one step ahead of her, but it is relentless. Part of this is my husband not being willing to put her in a crate or pen for any amount of time, even though she is fine with it. Sigh. If I were single no way would I put up with allowing her free reign of the house all the time. I simply could not afford to monitor her 24/7 while working.

@Jessica Geerling I'll admit that I personally LOVE banquette seating. It feels so cozy and functional to me. That being said, I really like the most recent picture where you pulled the table away from the wall and had it more centered in that space. It gave everything in that area some "breathing room". That tulip table is lovely and I'm also a fan of the wallpaper. So if you love it, keep it. Looks like there may even still be room to leave a straight bench (not L shaped) on that wall if you wanted too. Almost like a mini entry space. The hutch isn't bad though either. I actually think you've got a lot of great pieces to work with, but it could use some editing. Pick your favorite things and take the rest out. The bohemian pendant seems to be a bit much, but if you love it find away to incorporate bohemian elements in the rest of the space. Perhaps swapping the pendants over your island to repeat that design element. In order for rooms to look cohesive, the primary elements should be repeated 3 times and spread throughout the space, this helps tie everything together. If possible, I would also swap those chairs for something more upholstered and add a rug underneath to define the space, if you want to up the cozy factor which is what it seems like you were trying to accomplish with the banquette. All in all, you've got a great space, it just needs some tweaking and editing. Looking forward to seeing what you choose! :)
