Schuco has been the subject on many Window Forums over the past few weeks. Here is some information that is circulating: Schuco is getting out of the vinyl window business. They are selling there plant to Four Seasons. Nobody knows whats going to happen to the Schuco line. If I were you I would definitely get on the phone tomorrow and at least get the parts needed to fix your windows. Seems like there saying that Four Seasons are just buying the rights to their extrusions made by yet another company, getting rid of TPS Spacer, eliminating some of the Schuco lines, and potentially having NO responsibility to warrant Schuco products as they are not buying Schuco... just their machinery and ideas. Odds are that they will not even occupy the same plant in CT and will more than likely just cannibalize the equipment and bring it to the Four Seasons plant in NY. This is just one of many posts. It seems like nobody knows what is really going to happen to Schuco. Its a shame that they are doing this to there Customers and Dealers. Both may suffer.

I'm one of those people who is entirely content with a high-quality reproduction of a beloved thing that will never be mine unless Warren Buffet turns out to have been my real father.... As to framing... First, the size of the print. Google "The Calmady Children" for several options of reproductions. Second, see if you can find an image of the painting as it is framed, and think about using the same style, if you can. Illusions.com will let you pull up the reproduction and try out numerous frame styles. If you decide to have it done locally, go to the best framer in town, be prepared to spend upwards of $100 to give it a really good framing job, and let them help you. I've been known to spend half an hour at the counter at my favored shop, trying out corners in combination with mats, until it looks just right. If you opt for a giclee on canvas, you won't need glass. If you choose a print on paper, you will, and unless the image is quite large, I'd recommend a generous, neutral-colored, archival 8-ply mat to give it some room and impact. In any case, I am a passionate believer that lampshades and picture frames are the worst place to cheap out. It's like wearing an Armani dress with cheap jewelry and a pair of WalMart shoes...

I LOVE that poster! I am so used to seeing all of the classic actual photos and the poster is such a fresh take on the movie. Only you know how much DH actually "cares" what is in the room. My DH has a way of drastically changing his opinion of something the first time he hears someone else comment favorably on it. I learned long ago to ignore his thoughts on any decorative matter...in fact, the more he dislikes something, the more I usually know I'm on the right track, lol. I ignore his input and in the end, he is always very happy with the end product. I think this poster would be quite a conversation piece. I can't imagine how it would look in your living room as I have zero ability to visualize anything from a written description. As for whether it would look cheap, I wouldn't worry about that. It is either going to enhance the overall look of the room or it isn't. That would be my main concern.

Thanks for the pics! From what I see I would buy two toned curtain panels in either a deep blue or a deep red and a one inch diameter decorative curtain rod for each window. Your window over the sofa window will most likely require two panels on each side of the window and the rods need to be hung from the ceiling and 10-12 beyond the window on each side. Try the big window first before you put them on the siding window. You might not need them on the slider but buy them all together so the colors are the same run for the curtains and the rods are the same tone and style.....the one inch diameter will add more oomph to the curtains; don't skimp and get narrower ones.....you need the weight to balance the sofa weight. I love your three prints but please add a fourth in the same frame and style, the stack them one over the other two on each side on each side of the sofa window beyond the curtains. Two together will make them look bigger and more impact. Have the top one centered at 57 inches from the floor, the lower one should be three inches below the upper one.....I think that will look centered and make your big window your feature wall.....open the blinds for daylight. I like your two round mirrors and I would try to find another one that is similar but not the same and arrange the tree randomly in a tight grouping on your dining room wall. Put your two most loved pillows on the sofa and nothing on the chairs. Remove all the table stuff in the entire room. Add back the blue ware on your dining table, Cluster your plants on the sofa table, Try a glass hurricaine modern candle holder on the cocktail table with a big fat candle in a cream tone and put it on a wooden or metal tray....you want to edit down all your table stuff to just a very few; minimalism at work here. haha Two matching end tables on either end of your sofas in a modern vibe, in a square shape. Your lamps seem a bit small for the end tables, but you can lift them my making simple stacked square wood bases painted white? Or you can put them on your console and buy new red or blue lamps that are heavy and taller. Lamps are trial and error I find but they are hard to find between 28-30 inches......the price goes up but the short ones just do not make it, so it might be a future purchase......these are just ideas I would do in my house; I am not a decorator but I like to try things out. Remove the corner cabinet and the smaller wood console at the end of the sofa; re-purpose them in other areas of the house in different ways.- Geometric curtains on one inch rod 10-12 inches beyond window Vertically stacked prints with top one centered at 57 inches above floor Single item on cocktail table Tall lamp on table that is even with arm of sofa, single item on cocktail table, two pillows Strong two toned curtains hung from ceiling with multiple panels. This room has some interesting things going for it....cool cocktail table decor, looks tight and planned, great baskets for storage that you might consider incorporating under the console, but just one or two baskets or boxes. The pharmacy type floor lamp could look cool by the blue chairs in the corner? Examples of geometric curtains that you might like; note the wide diameter rods. Try to find lined curtains, they just hang better....Target, Lowe's, Wal Mart, World Market, all are great sources....I found all of these on line....curtains should be 93 inches long, often times you have to order online, most stores only sell the 84 " standard length..... I like what you have done in your room! Keep it up!
