Is it definitely 7’ ? Looks like Pickerel Weed but seems too tall.

Yea, thereabouts... If you look closely at the pic, some of those stems are pretty tall!

Thank you both! I'm pretty sure you're both right after checking some websites on Vitex. I just don't know where it came from as it's in the middle of our acreage and I didn't plant it and I've been here for over 28 years! I love the plant though. Thanks again.

I think that Floral had it right from the start. This escapee seems to best match Brassica rapa in its cultivated Chinese Cabbage form (var. pekinensis) or as a widely naturalized weed (ssp. sylvestris). The leaves seem more heavily veined, more densely clustered, and larger than typical of B. juncea that I've seen locally.

Wow, I wonder if that might be it? How did you even find that? Hardy Water Canna (Thalia dealbata) would be an awesome native! The region, habitat, leaf shape, and size all seem to match?

"rhizomatous marsh or marginal aquatic perennial that features long-stalked canna like foliage and violet blue flowers. It is a tall plant (to 6-10’) that lends a tropical flavor to ponds and water gardens. It is native to swamps and ponds from South Carolina to Florida west to Missouri and Texas."
