Help Removing Hardware

Linda Dubois
last year

I have a 1930’s buffet I am trying to refinish. Most hardware is what you would expect. It’s attached with screws.
In one are that drops down like a secretary door, there aren’t any screws. There is leather glued to the inside and I pried that up and no screws were presented. This does not appear to have two pieces of wood glued together. I have tried to pry the hardware off but there is certainly a stem of some sort. Could it be a wooden dowel or metal? I’ll include photos for reference.
Hardware in one pic.
Under red leather in another. Back of hardware.
