Match front door hardware to interior door hardware?
Comments (6)FWIW, and possibly unfortunately, I agree with your friend. The short moment when the door is open isn't sufficient to justify matching the satin nickle inside; and IMHO, metals within eyeball range should be at least of similar color. One sees (even if not consciously studies) the exterior lights and exterior knobs as a decor unit, and upon departing, the room's interior knobs (whether cabinet or several doors) are a different unit. I realize the SET of mix/match knobs looks strange while it's in your hand, but honestly, once installed, I don't think anyone ever stands at the door's edge in order to eyeball the interior and exterior knobs at the same time. I suspect you'd have to work hard to name any m/m sets in your present world, and yet there are likely to be many (especially on bathroom doors)....See MoreKitchen cabinet hardware size dilemma
Comments (9)Many interior decorators like the use of knobs for the cabinet doors and pulls for the drawers. After considering all of my options, I decided to go the same size pull for all the doors and drawers. To my way of seeing it, that just made the kitchen more cohesive. Once I made the decision to go with all pulls, I did consider different sizes for different sized doors and drawer. However, I did not like the appearance at all. So just went with one size for all. It is very important to use pulls with smooth edges to prevent snagging. For example look for the first type, not the second type shown below. These are just my guidelines for your consideration. I have been attempting to get the pictures to post at a decent size and they will not - they are gigantic. But look at the European style (the ones that can snag) and the cabinet handles (which for the most part are smooth ended - but there is one that is more in the European style) at this link. Comments (84)Seileen. Your tuquoise tile is main eyecatcher in your kitchen. Next is your range hood. That hood appears out of code to my eye. It is too low over burners. Typical is 30-36 from top of burners to bottom if hood. I am short but I think even I would hit my head on it. It is really big. So that is second big focal point. Third is your shelves and styling of items on the shelves. I do like the first knob and slim pull on your doors and drawers. Those are like jewelry in your colorful outfit. It is very pretty but a few tweaks will make it really amazing....See MoreNeed help please with door/hinges hardware dilemma
Comments (7)It is code for you are overthinking it and it doesn't matter because no one will notice and/or care. If is a big deal for you make all finishes the same, or all the same on each side of the door. Or look at it as plumbing fixtures are one finish and door hardware is another finish. It sounds like there is a lack of continuity in the house's design....See Morem_munkacsy
