Just getting home from a long day at work... Many thanks for your feedback. I appreciate your ideas. I agree that the one countertop style will be better, and will likely go with the Ironsbridge. Re the apps: We are buying a new cooktop for the island. The fridge and dishwasher are newer. May or may not replace the double oven in the near future. We are keeping the cabinets as they are--just repainting them, changing the cabinet hardware. We can't afford to do a major remodel/layout change at this time. We have lived in our home for over 20 years--it was quite new when we bought it) and the layout has worked well for us, although I understand it is good to have an open mind and consider other ideas. I hear what you are saying about the island/width of kitchen, but it has functioned well for us and acts as a nice buffet when guests come for parties and I hang out there a lot on my computer as well. Not sure how a peninsula would work better but would be curious to see where that would be placed, and what it would allow. We have doors to our deck in the kitchen, and in front of that a table and four chairs (will definitely be updating those as well, from a rectangular table to a round one, to provide better flow.) You are correct that the width of the kitchen is about 14 feet. I will attach a layout that was created by someone who gave us a bid on redoing the cabinets. Thanks again.

Not Cambria, but I was quoted $5k for 25 sq ft of Silestone White Zeus Extreme or $200/sq foot. I went to another shop in town and they wanted $3.7k for the same stone. This is in Appleton, WI which is less expensive than Allentown. I ended up going with Corian Designer White for $2.1k and I couldn't be happier. If I had done Glacier White it would been only $1.7k. This allowed me to spend some money on a good sink. You project sounds complicated. You could roll the dice with Home Depot for cheaper pricing but for the square footage you want to cover I would suggest taking a look at solid surface as an affordable option. It's not your Grandma's countertop.

I am a fabricator. You absolutely do not have to "go with cambria because of our contractor". Cambria is only one of many options and as the customer you make the call on what you get. Go shopping at fabricators (not Big Box stores) on your own with your cabinet drawings and I suspect you will find multiple acceptable options that are far less than the price charged for Cambria. I used to do Cambria but ended the relationship when I could no longer tolerate their poor service. (they also didn't like that I did natural stone). All that said it is fair to note that as a repeat customer of the fabricator you contractor has some additional influence in the event there is an issue with your countertops. Google "resin pools" which Cambria doesn't think are defects.
