Sherwin Williams vs. Benjamin Moore, how many coats and painters
Comments (6)Good day, many people perfer ben moore over sherwin however both r good qualiry paints however sherwin doesn't have an eggshell and their satin looks like a semi gloss I personally like durons paints which is now owned by sherwin. As for the tapeing I personally would say freehand is the best but if you want fresh crisp lines find some frog tape I haven't tried it but it has something on the edges that resists the latex paint but whatever tape you use as a rule of thumb dry brush the edge, this helps ensure there is no seapage under the tape, and pull the tape as you go usualy once I get to a corner I pull the tape off yes you will have to re tape but this way you don't pull the paint off. I would do this process 2 times before rolling only because when you dry brush it doesn't cover well and then you do your 3rd cut in and roll the 2nd coat...See MoreSherwin-Williams equivalent for Benjamin Moore's "Chantilly Lace"
Comments (1)The closest you're going to get is to ask SW to color match Chantilly Lace. A SW stock white that is the closest in terms of a clean white is Extra White. Frankly, I think it's a prettier color than Chantilly Lace....See MoreSherwin Williams equivalent to Ben Moore Arctic Grey
Comments (4)Here you can make direct comparison between the colours mentioned. L = Lightness. (How light /dark does each colour appear?) C = Chroma. (How muted/near neutral or how colourful/clean is it?) The Lower the Chroma the nearer to neutral. H = Hue Angle° (Where within its Hue Family does a colour sit?) LRV = Light Reflectance Value. ( How much light does a colour reflect/absorb)...See MoreI need a Sherwin Williams equivalent of Benjamin Moore
Comments (12)first off, your painter can use BM paint. To say "he only uses SW paint" is ridiculous. you're paying HIM to paint your house the color you want. Tell him you'll pay the diff in the cost for the BM Paint. If he refuses, find a diff painter. if you really love decorators white, then use Decorators White. secondly, you can't color match BM colors. they won't look exact. BM has their own tints and paint. Formula won't translate when using different additive. have them (Sherwin williams) mix up a sample for you and see if you like it. Decorators White is a cooler white with slight gray undertones. I would say, use the SW Extra White (or maybe Pure white) if you like Decorators white (once it's actually on the wall, you won't be able to tell much diff. )...See MoreCelery.
