Danby Marble Countertops- need help with backsplash

Hi! We just installed Danby Marble Countertops on both the island and perimeter and I'm struggling hard with choosing a backsplash...we have a lot of white going on already but I don't think I want to introduce any color. Maybe something to complement the Ilve range? Or maybe a white marble herringbone? Any suggestions would be appreciated! We are in the home-stretch and I'm really tired of making decisions. LOL. (note- we are waiting on the range hood but it will be white also)

Oh wow, that range! Love!! Of course it's a personal preference, but I like the idea of a simple backsplash. Once you add your "stuff," the backsplash will be a nice neutral and you can let your range be the star.

Thank you @stiley! I'm seeing a lot of the glossier subway tiles lately like in the first two photos you shared. I really like them! Do you think they would look nice with the marble?

Frankly, I like what they have proposed better than the original plan (assuming I understood it right...you wanted the curved end only on the short sidesplash and a straight end on the backsplash?) I think it looks symmetrical this way, as it's the open ends that have the curved piece...not one open end and one that deadends into the wall. So, if it were me...I'd take the credit (I assume you mean a discounted price...not a credit towards something else, which possibly you don't want or need?) and feel good about it. But, as they say, advice is only worth what you pay for it!

I'll gladly let you snatch that paint brush out of my hand. ha ha. But at the same time if a little tiling will tie up the project, then I'm game. jodi_socal: I'm a little disappointed when you said fire and ice won't work. I just LOVE that F&I BS. But then agin, I think I know all along it's a little too much for my kitchen. Caryscott & petra: Thanks for the picture petra, it says a thousand words. Is spectralight glass tiles? Prices are pretty reasonable. What about that milk green color? will it work? maybe with some garnet pieces sparingly mixed in. I will take some pictures and post two HD Behr's paint card to aid in the discussion of color. Thanks again ALL! I think the glossy subway tile, with a matching grout, is a classic. Right now I also love matte tiles like these. They're white but have some dimension. We just had them put into our kitchen with Taj Mahal quartzite. They could add some warmth if you're worried about your kitchen being too white.

I'd do a nice light biscuit shade in a subway tile maybe bevelled edge just for the interest.....the gloss would not be a focus for me ....not sure about matte....but just standard ceramic tile I think ... Your light is streaming in from above so how much would hi gloss really impact. You can leave the task lights on a lot if youreally want the gloss I guess....I just dont think that calculation is super valuable . the marble has that warmth and creaminess and subtlety..... but at the same time your kitchen really has scale / that's why I thought a bevel edge to just catch the eyes for some interest , a bit. I'm sure you'll find lots of tiles to work, Nice space!!!! shown: a bit of relief /bevel to the tile edge.....two different shades [funny around a tub-never would have thought to do that] .
