What about doing the walls in a pattern. Plain white tile. Say a plain white herringbone for the shower walls. And plain white tiles on the rest of the walls.

And the gloss with the matte finish
And the same square size
Is a bit monotonous for me personally.
They also don’t mell together perfectly.

I think you should find an inspiration photo that works for you and copy it.

I like what you’ve chosen, Kathsgarden. For your small bathroom, simpler is better. A busy floor like the last herringbone pattern is pretty but it would drive me crazy and is hard to clean. Stick with your plan. I love larger size tile and thin grout. Makes life easy.

i like the color choices. like the wall tile. like the floor but i think would use a different shape just to breakup all the straight lines. i love a chevron or hexagon. if its only you, i would not worry so much about the grout. it will be a dark gray and make sure u seal it and it will be fine.

dark fixtures look so pretty but are a nightmare to keep clean due to calcium in the water. they will eventually have white crust on them. i would re think that choice, just due to ick factor.

love the towel warmer and if in the budget i would definitely heat the floor.

Agree with sprtphntc--you shouldn't use the same size and shape tile for the floor and shower. It's like wearing a striped top with striped pants. I really like the large hexagons for the floor.

Here's what you need to know about black finishes...

Black is so hard to keep looking nice. The floor will show every bit of dust and water splatter. The sink and showing will show soap spots, drips, etc.

It looks so pretty but I think you'll be cleaning constantly.

I see no problem using the same size tile on the floor and shower walls.

I agree though that black will show the dust.

I recently sold my home on acreage & moved to a new to me home. The floors are almost black hard wood. It has turned into my worse nightmare. Every spot of dust is very visible. I run the vacuum in the afternoon & when I get up the next day the sun is shining into my east facing windows & It looks like I've done nothing at all for days. I am learning to keep my blinds closed, not a good look.

I wouldn't do it in a bigger area but this is my bathroom and it's tiny.
