Need help designing a door
Comments (8)Sorry, I don't have actual picture because that space is currently two rooms with a wall in the middle, and we are going to remove the wall and make it a bigger room of about 23x18. Everything is on a design stage. The wall for french door and mudroom door is a dry wall now. I used Lowe's virtual room designer and don't know how to label and add exterior feature. I will try to explain it better. The black block in the center against wall A represents TV. The door next to the TV goes to mudroom. The french door goes to backyard. So there is a wall outside perpendicular to wall A between french door and mudroom door, which is one wall of mudroom. Hope it helps....See MoreHELP - 15.5 ft x 22 ft Living room layout - Fireplace - TV - furniture
Comments (6)Not a Pro. Your rushing, if you post a pic of accurate dimensions of the room you will get so many different layouts from the posters on Houzz and one of them will work for you and your needs. I would not make a separate area for the baby and toys in your room, because they out grow the area fast, but I would make sure you have decorative storage to house the little toys, etc. Something that can later be used to store board games, blankets, etc. Think long term. Don't rush, just to fill the room....See MoreTV Placement Help
Comments (2)I toyed with this one a bit. I'm sure you will get some responses saying do not put the TV over the fireplace, but if you must, maybe these will help you out. Comments (27)When the sofa faces the window, the chaise completely blocks the fireplace and looks like a fire hazard. Since you're open to some construction, you may want to consider removing the mantle, adding brick up to the ceiling, then mounting the TV lower than where the mantle is now so it's more comfortable to watch when the sofa is facing the fireplace. If you remove the radiator in the dining table area, will you also be able to remove the 27" and 24" wide wall bump outs on each side? If you can, you'll gain valuable space and may be able to use the table and chairs you have now....See MoreLyn Nielson
