I like the bench and the mirror in this spot but maybe the bench should be straightened out against the stairwell, add a little lighter color to soften the area, be careful of too much black. I think a small table and lamp will also help to soften and add interest. I think it is a great idea to have a bench in the entry area, I'm always thinking how I can incorporate one into my entry.

I agree with moving the table to the top of the stairs; the space seems too small for a table. Not sure what your budget is, but I know you can buy really inexpensive polypropylene runners quite cheaply and I think I'd add one on top of your carpeting...like this: I think it would make all the difference in your entry. Google either rustic or farmhouse console/entry table...many to choose from.

Hi all! So I have a very small area to work with. I’m just looking for a nicer console and something pleasant for the wall area. The wall area is Only 2.8 ft (34 inches) in length (when the front door is fully open). The width of this space is approx 4 feet. We are avoiding a mirror here since the following room has a big mirror as well. Any advice is welcomed!! The walls are light grey. Its hard to find a thin console! HELP!!!
