Thanks for the info on the tub-- we remodeled master bath about 4-5 yrs ago in home we owned but rented to our son--we neeed to find a smaller tub for space that the acrylic soaker was in-- ordered it at Ferguson's and think it was AS--was a fiberglass tub--not my favorite but wasn't that expensive and fit the space... Maybe if my husband sees there are no nice small tubs he will agree to the shower upgrade We are familiar with aging in place stuff--house we bought in TX has roll in showers in both downstairs bathrooms and some other features... but thanks for the link This shows the entrance into part of bath with tub and shower the area just to left of pocket door is linen closet--then the small shower--the toilet is on that exterior wall-- I think there might be room to extend the side of the shower closest to toilet a foot or so which can make a difference in such small space...but it would make toilet sort of lopsided on the wall spacing...

florantha- we touched on this on another thread. I think it is so important to look at the home, the style of the home inside and out, and the setting of that home; or at least how one integrates all of that. We are in a wooded setting, and the house is a colonial with a gorgeous brick fireplace. Things are in good shape, but definitely worn- not bad, just have more of rustic vs shiny and newly built look. As I had mentioned, golden oak is not my first choice for cabinets, however, they really seem to fit the house, the setting and the design. It's hard to actually imagine them different and I have some concerns about changing them, color or stain, that they will not blend so seamlessly with the rest of the house! I even think those darn arched doors seem to fit in! As for the sink- it was my first choice. I love the look of white cast iron sinks (so freakin heavy to get home by myself!!). In some ways, I regret it practically as it is marred by my anodized pots, and the bottom needs bleach once a week to look white. It's only 4 years old! Although the house was built in the 50's, it has the feel of a house from the 20-30's (I previously had a dutch colonial that age, and it really had the same feel to it). I hope whatever I end up with when I am all finished will be timeless. I know, high hopes. Thanks for the positive thoughts!! Also, BillV? or someone had posted a link on wall color that I thought was so interesting (on another thread). Basically trying to make a dark space light did not happen with white or light paint necessarily! It was reassuring that my instinct to embrace the dark room with a deep color vs trying to lighten it with a white was not so crazy!

For your two chairs, I highly recommend Bradington-Young's Marietta swivel glider tub chairs. I did their customer's own material option but they do have lots of fabric and leathers to choose from. I ordered the chairs from a local furniture store that carries that brand. Everyone that sits in the chairs loves them. My husband is tall and above average in size and thinks the chairs are the most comfortable ones in the house. The chairs have a smaller profile look but they are plenty roomy. I was so happy to see that when Bradington-Young made my chairs that they did a perfect job on pattern matching the fabric. The chairs were a bit expensive but well worth it in my opinion Here they are

OK, good feedback. thanks. How much wall is on the front door side of the entry before the opening begins. I can make a change once I have that info. How wide is the arch at the bottom? I have mixed feelings about the radiator cover. I have had a condo with radiators and I liked the covers because you could give them some use. I put granite tops on them and was then able to use them for some books, and plants. I can't see what the top surface is? You don't gain much by removing them IMO. I would paint them your trim color since they are basically trim. As to art, the size somewhat depends on what you are looking for in art. I have done all kinds of widths of art over mantels. The basic tradition is to have the art be approx. 2/3 as wide as the mantel. But with yours, I think you could go a bit wider and higher if you find something you love. Sometimes you find something you love and we have to create the visual space we need for the proper balance by adding candle sconces or tall candlesticks or some type additional element to properly proportion the area above the mantel. I would start by looking for something about 38-40" wide. How much space is there between the top of the mantel and the ceiling/crown? Your current tapestry? is too small as you probably know.
