Turning a dresser into a open shelf piece
Comments (11)Funny, I was at an antique shop yesterday and the owner had a dresser with the top drawer missing that she found in an ally. She put a shelf in the opening and painted the whole thing a kind of indian red. Said she was just going to use it in the store for display but someone wanted to buy it. Is was very nice looking. I am taking a second look at that ugly dresser in the spare room that my kids carved their names on the top. Post a picture if you do it....See MoreVanity and Dresser Set. Any ideas on age, style?
Comments (5)Thanks. It is a really nice set and amazing quality. The vanity is pretty tiny but it takes two people to move it. Besides a little chip in the styling at the front the vanity there is no damage to this set. I picked all 5 pieces up from a local women for $120 which seemed like a steal (considering I could only get a pressed board or crappy cheap pine dresser new for that). I thought it was art deco influenced based on the designs but am new at this....See MoreStyling dressers/end tables and picking a bed and bedspread
Comments (8)So the door to the room is where the panoramic pics are taken from so if I move my bed to that side then when you walk in the bed is right to your left. Do you think I should do that? I like the idea of a big piece of art over the bed! I still can’t find a bed frame I love though. As far as the photos go, I think I like the Scandinavian 70s mid century thing. I like the mix of trinkets in the first and how they all come together to create a space that feels warm and lived in and just has interest when you look around. I like the warm colors of the pink and vintage-y green because it feels kind of old school 70s Like I like the white because it feels clean and not intruding but I also love the tan leather because it’s warm and adds some depth and goes with the plants and the boho thing Like I absolutely looooove the first pic below (and the one of the tan chair with arc lamp) and these other photos...See Morewhat style/color/material dresser would go with this furniture?
Comments (0)I'm somewhat stuck with the bedroom furniture that is shown in the photos so I need to find a dresser that would match or at least not look odd amongst these pieces. I was hoping for a black wood or darker brown, in a glam/transitional or even a Mediterranean style . as you can see from my rooms layout, it is oddly shaped so my only requirement is that it's tall instead of wide and the drawer are deep. Another option would be a lingerie chest and then a smaller 4 drawer dresser for sweaters, etc. my bed is a med. brown wood color with slight orange tones. Also pictures is a mirrored desk used as a makeup vanity with a matching mirror and a white/mirrored stool. then I have the large standing mirror that is a champagne gold. I've also got a sheepskin rug which I love and looks nice with the mirror I know, nothing is consistent. but for the foreseeable future I'm stuck with what I got so any ideas on a dresser that would not clash with these pieces would be great! also, I'm.currently at a loss for where to place my bedroom furniture! currently the vanity is against the diagonal wall, which looks nice but it leaves me with very few options for where to place the mirror. the bed needs to be on either long wall but I can't decide which. help!...See MoreEllie
