Comments (54)LOL Innocent DJM with doe eyes saying "Who me, drive?" I bolted upright from a deep sleep at 4 a.m. and said "BOOKMARK!" It was really niggling at my puny brain all evening! It is the most beautiful bookmark I've ever owned! Yes! Jan your wonderful box complete with Michigan waterfront postcard arrived today- a welcome arrival after a long work day. I am so grateful you are looking out for my animals! You know me so well: Feline Greenies which are like little 'tempt me' pellets to those felines! They love em! And the doggy chews, and shampoos are much appreciated (well, the shampoos will be met with resistance LOL but much appreciated by we humans!) And Roxy will love you forever for the treats! See smiley, slobbery face here: Jan you don't know how timely your 'foofy' nail care kit is! I've been looking all over for my clear nail polish to preserve my nails for the tough spring workout ahead. Cuticles are in bad shape and POOF: here is an entire nail care supply before my eyes! Thank you so much! And the yummy energy bar of soap will soothe my weary self as the spring marathon outdoors draws nigh. I can't thank you enough for the rubber grippy gloves- I go through tons of them and change them up to 4 times a day if they get wet/too muddy. Can't have enough gloves! The bright delightful ladybug chimes are going to have to join me by the garage garden beds- the house eaves are full! Hopefully they will lure in some lady beetles, and if not; I'll enjoy their soothing sounds in a breeze as I work away. I love the notepaper and envelopes. My elderly mom we call "The great communicator" writes letters faithfully to so many people every day, so we try to return the favor (she doesn't have email!) and she will so love receiving those flowery/country/rustic notes, as did I! And finally something I have not seen before, but laughed at because I am old enough to remember "Fizzies," the little tablets you dropped in water to make a carbonated drink as kids (if your Mom, the great nutritionist/communicator, would let you have Fizzies....) They're Miracle Grow Fizzies! I will use them on my houseplants and deck/rail rider planters/pots in weeks to come! Thank you so much Jan for your wonderful suprises and nice note- from me, and the furry beasts! You have a spot in our hearts forever!...See MoreUPDATE: Cassie's June Check in for 2005 Swap

My Secret Pal made me the most beautiful garden wreath I've ever seen! I Love it! The wreath is green hose, with beautiful flowers, a garden glove & shovel attached...it is awesome! Looks beautiful hanging on my front deck.. I also got a small wicker basket with Summer bouquet of silk flowers in it, it's adorable. And, the neatest sunhat I've ever seen. It's in a littl pouch, you take it out and it pops open, it's so cool! I also got two jars of jam a strawberry & a Peach, I'll smack my lips for everybody..lol And, she sent me four cute, soft, teddy bears.. Once for each of my Grandchildern, she even put each of their names on the tags.. My Secret Pal is sooo Sweet! Big..Big.. Hugs! Secret Pal, here are the answers to the questions you ask me in letter. Comments (80)Donna, I just read your sad news. I'm so sorry about your precious Kate. That's very sad. To all you kitty lovers, I do have a word of caution. I hesitated to write about this but feel it might help someone in the future. Last spring I received a purchased Hosta that had been cut from the mother plant instead of being grown as its own individual plant. This was a first for me. The folks who sent it had dipped or sprinkled some sort of yellow-colored substance on the cut portion ~ likely an anti-fungal or something. Anyway, when Hostas arrive I always let them soak for a day or two in a container on the counter. At the time I had 2 Maine Coons and a rescue kitty. Despite always having fresh water available, two of my kitties sneaked up on the counter and drank the water the Hosta was soaking in. Both were sick immediately and the rescue kitty never did it again. But the one Maine Coon, Pearl, continued to do it whenever my back was turned. I finally figured it out after a few days (it had been raining for days so the plant stayed on my counter longer than usual) and took the plant outside. Pearl seemed to recover initially, but two weeks later she really began to have problems. I won't go into the details but it was awful. After weeks of testing and months of trying to treat her we had to have her put to sleep. Pancreatic failure. She was only 6 years old. Cats will be cats. You have house rules like staying off table tops and counters, cats live by their own rules, at least when your back is turned. Watch out for treated Hostas....See More
