help with whole house color palette
Comments (4)I would use Teresas green in all the psaces in the main living space then add something different in bedrooms where the color should go with the bedding. But I would also need to see your furniture , your lighting will need to be good LEDs in 4000K range to keep colors true. Wall colr is not decided by just liking a color it needs to work with all the elements in a space since all your rooms are in sight of eachother I would keep it simple if after you live in it for a while you decide to change the DR then do that. I like the Blue gray too BTW but it is up to you to see how color works with your stuf. BTW I would always choose F%B if I could but your painter will need to know how to apply it so make sure they have tha knowledge....See MoreHelp with new construction whole house paint color/ floor!
Comments (19)Here is the DNA on SW Sea Salt. It has an LRV (light reflective value, or how much light does it absorb or reflect.) of 65 so 100 is most reflective. 65 makes it not very reflective, kind of mid range. It has a Hue Family (what is the main color that is most likely to show thru) of Green/Yellow (cool segment) and it has a moderate Chroma which means it has enough black to "gray it down" and helps define how much "color" is in the paint. This one has a fair amount of Chroma, so it is pretty "colorful". So, if you want a more "quiet" backdrop, look to the "off-whites". Some to get samples of and compare are SW Chantilly Lace (pretty white); SW Extra White (not quite as bright but still white); SW Cotton Balls, SW Pure White is nice too. Then you can get some of the more colorful choices like SW Sea Salt, SW Agreeable Gray, SW Accessible Beige, SW Alabaster (more yellow Hue Family) or SW Worldly Gray which has much more color but fairly neutral tending to gray tones. Worldly Gray has an LRV of 57, so it is mid-range light reflective. Not as reflective as SW Sea Salt for example at 65. LRV is measured from 0-100. The closer to 100 the more reflective; the closer to 0 the less reflective and more absorbing of light....See MoreWhole house color scheme help
Comments (67)Couple of suggestions for sampling colors Buy a pad of 240 lb watercolor paper Prime one wall or section of wall Paint your samples on the watercolor paper Hang the watercolor paper on the primed wall and look at no more than 2 at a time. Painting samples over your existing color makes you compare the color to the existing color. Colors don't play alone, they play with the other colors in their space. If one of the other colors won't be there you don't want to see how they play together. The color in the middle of each block of color is the same color....See MoreWhole house paint color. HELP!!
Comments (11)I always use a variation on a white white, and against white trim there is always a contrast because the light affects every wall differently. yellow, grieve and antique whites always show up too dark in low light rooms. White is always a good choice. Remember your lighting will play a big role in the final look. You should like you know what you want. good luck....See MoreLyn Nielson
