Remote window opener?

last year

We are building a house with very high clerestory windows. They are mounted in a wall that starts at 14' above the great room floor, and up to 16'. I would like to have one of them as an owning window to vent heat as needed. Does anyone have a good suggestion for a remote window opener I can use? I looked at a couple but their mechanisms don't work with Jeldwen windows because the lever runs right through the screen.

What kind of operators are they currently? There are some aftermarket solutions out there.

They are standard casement windows mounted as awning. Manual crank openers come with them.

Sure sounds like they have changed the radio frequency. That is the only reason they all would not work.

Unfortunately it sounds like you have a bad logic board. The receiver is built into this board and does go bad occasionally.

Liftmaster garage door won't open with remote when dark outside. We thought it was because of lighting that was installed outside / above garage door (which has windows). Have tested with LED, CFL and incandescent bulbs and no bulbs at all. Works perfectly in daylight.

I'd call the manufacturer first and see what they recommend. But there are generic solutions out there.

Thanks. The manufacturer has no solution for me. Hopefully there's someone here who has solved that problem before.

Google is going to be your friend here. Look at some of these generic systems and call the companies to see if they can be easily adopted to your window. 95% of the crank operators are made by 2 companies...so I suspect it should be an easy retrofit.

Maybe a mechanism used in Greenhouses to open windows would work ?

Step 1. Confirm what style hardware is installed on the casements.

Step 2. Search according to that hardware.
