Look at Miele. It is comparable to SZ. They each have their adherents. (Myself, I have a SZ and love it). One person who has frequent power outages went with Miele because she felt that the control board could survive power outages more successfully. Liebherr is nice too but most people think it is a step down, a little more plasticky, but many people love them. I think KA can be paneled too. Don't have a view on that one.

get the SZ, we got a SZ as part of our kitchen remodel, I do notice fruits and vegetables are staying fresher longer vs my ~10yr old fridge that the SZ replaced. I don't know if technology has improved so much now that all refrigerators will keep foods better or SZ fridges just preserve the foods better with the air filter, right temp and humidity. I come from the "a fridge is just fridge, no need to spend more for brand name one", but now I am a believer. Since foods last so much longer now, I might actually save money in a long run.

@palimpsest Neither the range nor the hood have brass finishes. There is some brass hardware on the island but the glass doored cabinets don't seem to be obviously brass. An expensive kitchen for sure and to a great extent respect the age of the house and much of the original detail in other rooms was restored or if not lovingly recreated. The kitchens and bathrooms were obviously complete down to the studs remodels. There was a townhouse on the Upper West Side that was owned by Sherle Wagner who started the ultra high end bathroom fixture company decades ago. The interior of that brownstone had been ransacked and she spent a fortune recreating it so that all of the woodwork detail was back. The staircase she had made was incredible. No expense spared - thankfully it was sold to someone who appreciated it. Obviously taste is completely subjective but it seems an odd choice for a paneled refrigerator. There are some other odd choices as well. The couple selling it are prolific flippers of high end Brooklyn real estate. I rode past this house every Saturday after classes at the Brooklyn Museum but obviously as a child I have no specific memory of it.
