Bottom vent panel on undercounter/panel ready fridge

It’s just dawned on me that there’s a stainless vent panel at the bottom of the panel-ready undercounter fridge we’re about to install (GE Monogram). Is there any safe way to disguise this? I wonder about a baseboard with holes routed in it for ventilation. Not keen on leaving it as is!

The appliance comes with two toe kicks, one black and one stainless steel. You could paint one the color of the adjacent wood toe kicks and if that didn't work out, install the other one.

Thanks! I think the difference in depth is just too noticeable. I found a place that will custom make a wood toe kick vent the right thickness to put in front of the metal one. Just under $100 with shipping. The vent opening area is large plus there’s a chase another 24” deep behind the fridge so I am not very concerned about the fridge overheating. I will post a photo when it’s all done.

Fridges that take panels can be- "panel ready" this is a free standing fridge that takes a panel. These will stick out by the door depth plus the panel depth. "built in" as many sub zeros are, they will stick out much less. " fully integrated" which don't stick out at all. The only older sub zeros which can be fully integrated are the 700 series.any of the newer BI series can be but require extra room to do it. Some newer Liebherr can, old ones can't really. My opinion is not to bother with panel ready free standing.

Look at Miele. It is comparable to SZ. They each have their adherents. (Myself, I have a SZ and love it). One person who has frequent power outages went with Miele because she felt that the control board could survive power outages more successfully. Liebherr is nice too but most people think it is a step down, a little more plasticky, but many people love them. I think KA can be paneled too. Don't have a view on that one.

I'm with Sophie,concentrate on making it operational then worry how it looks. For efficient operation,I conceal vent openings beneath counter top and in toe kick then wire a small fan in parallel with compressor. When compressor run's,fan circulates air in cabinet. This alow's me to cover frige with a door matching bar doors/drawers. If you insist on paneled frige door on a shoestring budget,it's simple to attach a custom panel of your choice to door. Adhesive or screws are your friends.

For a flush installation, you wouldn't see the metal toekick as it's recessed 2-3/4" from the front of the door (without the handle). The custom toekick won't line up with the adjacent baseboards.

For a standard (non-flush) installation, it appears that you might be able to align the custom toekick with the adjacent baseboards. I'd try attaching the custom toekick without the metal one, then carefully placing the refrigerator so its door protrudes the required 2-3/4" beyond the adjacent walls.
