Miele plumbed steam oven drainage issue

last modified: last year

We installed a Miele plumbed steam combi oven ~ one year ago. everything was good until water came out from the bottom of the oven when using the steam function. Miele technican came and told us we need to install a two way airgap, since the water leak was caused by the back flow water from the garbage disposal. the drawing is plumbing connections.

Talked to the plumber. He suggests having a high loop for the drain line of the steam oven considering the temerature (~170F) of the water from the steam oven.

The green highlight is his suggestion: extend the steam oven drain with more drianage hose, lift it to achieve high loop to prevent the water back flow from the garbage disposal to the drainage line of steam oven.

Did anyone encounter similar problem?

Does the proposal from the plumber make sense?

Because the water from the steam oven is so hot, I assume the extension has to be copper hose. Correct?
