Hello, I have replaced the basic pendants over my island with the orange ones in these pics. In doing so, I realize that the fixture over the dining table now looks mis-matched! I love the large circular pendant fixtures that I have been seeing around. Can you help me to select one (what color?) for my dining room table? I was thinking that black would work? Also, I plan to replace my dining room chairs. The table will stay. Can you make any suggestions for a dining room chair style that will compliment my space? I don't want wood, I was thinking an aluminum or possibly black, possibly a rattan/sea grass?? I am at a total loss and don't really know how to pick a chair that will look good with the table and the overall style of the space. Please help. Originally I had two nice La-Z-Boy swivel/rock smaller chairs, but they quit making them. These were destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. Since then, I found that JCP sold them online. Lookalikes, that is, but with really awful choices in the fabric. I again bought a pair of the small scale swivel rockers plus an ottoman. They are nice, but not by any means quality stuff. If it was not mandatory that the scale be small I would have passed them up and kept looking. This chair looks fine. Even the fabric is much better than the original. Because it looks like it has been recovered. IMHO, the scale is good and the shape is nice. If it fits your space, go for it. It is VERY hard to find this diminuative size chair new. And the swivel and rocking feature are very comfortable.

The chair in the pictures in my original post appears to be constructed in the same manner as described by jemdandy, except I would say that the vinyl is of a very durable quality. Casually looking on the internet, there appear to have been many varieties of this model manufactured. Based on the photos, the chair in my pictures appears to be on the lower-end of the design scale, meaning that the color is grey (as opposed to blue, green, red, or yellow) and the vinyl is not shiny or reflective, such as the upholstery one may find in a retro styled diner. Which companies manufactured these dinette sets?

Your place looks really rustic, reminds me of our old ski house. What do the legs on your table look like? I don't like your first chair option for your place. Depending on the table legs I think the last two chairs might be a good option. I like the turquoise stool in either that or a cream color. I like the idea of the dark stained legs because of the nice contrast they give to the pine in the house.
