Comments (13)No real suggestions here, but I do like to make themed baskets as gifts. I just gave my Dad a big basket lined with cloth napkins and filled with breakfast things - pancake mix, scone mix, 2 syrups, honey, jams and a small thing of coffee. TJMaxx always has a nice assortment of giftable foods which is where I purchased most of the things. I've also done baskets with lotions, soaps, candles and a relaxing cd. Movie themed ones are fun too - a favorite dvd or theatre gift cards and some of those boxed candies, some popcorn and soda. I had to copy your list. You've got some great ideas there!...See MoreFavorite Hostess Gift
Comments (18)Funkyart, I think you could say that about almost anything, not just soaps. People bring us wine; we usually pass it along to neighbors because we so seldom drink it. A neighbor brought us a lovely bottle of port. I have no idea when we would ever open port, neither of us likes it. Someone recently brought me very nice local jams. My kids are weird and don't eat jam. I have it maybe once a month? Probably less Not sure what I'm going to do with those. All very nice gifts though! My general plan in choosing hostess gifts is a consumable so that the person never has to worry about using it or displaying it in front of me, something that does not need to be served at the event I am attending, something that does not require immediate attention, and something "nice." By nice, I mean it feels a bit posh and is attractively packaged. Soaps tick all those boxes (though I also do olive oil and vinegar and other more personal choices at times). If the hostess doesn't like guest soaps, I figure they are easily donated or passed along to someone else (or used in a bathroom the hostess doesn't use)....See MoreJust wanted share one of my favorite gifted orchids!! Comments (22)Tom, what a beautiful cat! I love the markings and thank you) Blutayle..You are way too funny! Seems I have known you for years here and we have both been a bad influence for each other..lol. You know you are in an area where there is countless of orchids you could catch..Ha. Thanks Now you do know that I just have to have that one above..lol. If I find it and it's the only one left on let's say ;like E-bay, I am going to get it before you do.. That is a beauty!!Wait you son of a gun, you already go one..Where did you get it? The Alba? I am in love with it! I am not sure if anyone has experience with these, but I wonder if they only bloom every other year? The one I bloomed last year did not bloom this year, same care. But the other did. I think they will take turns.....See MoreFunkyart
