Exterior refresh needed
Comments (13)Advice I always recommend concerning any plantings inherited with a new house is to wait a full season to see what it is you have. There just may be treasures! Those shrubs in front of the windows ARE too tall for that spot, but (depending on what they are) might be lovely moved to another area in your yard. Shrubs of that size would be expensive to buy so if you move them, you are ahead of the game. Since you want to replace the roof/siding, the workmen will appreciate not having them in the way and the shrubs won't get damaged. Just something to think about... I, too, like the mockup's darker color with white trim. Perhaps beef up the trim under the upper windows a bit, and repeat the bay window's style of trim/siding underneath over on the right set of windows to match... As to what order to do the needed work, I would say to do the roof first -- that way the new siding won't be damaged. Good luck and please post photos of the finished work!...See MoreNeed advice for kitchen refresh with paint only please!
Comments (3)Don't do anything if you're having someone paint them. And having them professionally painted will be in the 3-5K range. are you aware of that? do not have any house painter do them. the prep on these cabinets need to be done by the book or your paint will peel and chip within a few months. so please, hire a PRO cabinet painter and ask him what his prep steps are. I like BM White Dove for your cabinets. it will go beautifully w/the tile. and a pale blue wall is a good idea. this one is BM Solitude or BM Pashmina...See MoreNeed a refresh for a Mid Century house exterior
Comments (4)Hard to tell from this photo what the exterior walls are. Stucco? If so, I might look at painting is a dark gray, do the trim in a charcoal color, and paint the door a bright yellow (or natural wood like this): Here are some other color combinations I like:...See MoreAdvice to refresh our front entrance
Comments (4)I love a cat slide roof! Because it's the same color as the roof and trim, it sort of disappears. I would stain the cedar white, remove all the posts and replace with a simple 6 x 6 square post, just enough of them to support the roof. You may need to add a header. Replace the tile with a bluestone or slate either real or tile look alike....See MoreCarissa B (z6, Detroit, Michigan)
