Does anyone here have an Oura ring?

Just curious. DD mentioned that she might want one for Christmas. She is very petite and usually wears small, dainty jewelry and really never any rings. To me, in photos the ring looks pretty heavy or chunky.

Any first hand (ha, see what I did there?) experience here?

Because she's petite, has she tried one on before? It may drive her crazy if it's too chunky.

HAHAHAH something more to stress about? Hopefully it works better than this watch deal DH wears. His company gives him a discount it the contraption records 'enough' exercise and sleep. Many nights a week it says he got no sleep. Funny he passes out at 7 every evening in front of his favorite shows!!! I wake him at 10 for bed where he takes all of two minutes to begin snoring!!!

I live in the north shore of Massachusetts. I installed a Cercis Canadensis - Rising Sun Redbud last October - a 5 gallon container tree in a full sun area of my front yard - where there is decent drainage. Made it through the winter with no problems, and the tight lavender buds popped in April . The bark and branching is a light grey and it all appears to be healthy - all branches are still pliable. The tiny lime colored leaves that appeared after budding have now morphed into larger, darker leaves. Watering has been a consistent once / wk process, but we did have some pretty intense rainfall about a month ago. I began noticing slight drooping and wilting of the leaves right before the heavy rains we received. Since then, it has been dry and warm, and the leaves have gotten more wilted and curled. At the recommendation of one of our nursery managers, I tried soaking the root area. There has been no improvement, and the smaller leaves are now drying up. No spotting on the leaves or signs of leaf decay, and no insect issues.. If it weren't for the drooping and wilting of leaves, they'd look completely healthy. In other words, the color and structure of the leaves are fine. The Rising Sun Redbud is a relatively new cultivar, so not much to go on re. diseases, insect issues and tree care solutions... My first inclination was that the tree might be suffering from root rot or a root fungus - based on the wilting and curling of leaves. I checked the soil around the root ball, which is cool and moist, but not wet, and there is none of the distinct smell you commonly get with root rot... When soaking the root area, the water pooled then drained fairly quickly. If anyone has any information on the Rising Sun, this particular issue, and a possible solution please pass along.. I got one of the early Android phones, when first on the market 10 years ago, and Oh how liberating I found it compared to the Blackberry I had to use for work. I won't drink the Apple Kool-Aid. They've been ripping off their customers for too long, selling more sizzle than steak at higher prices than comparable alternative products. Smartphone hardware of any denomination is all pretty solid, it's the software and UIs that vary. I don't like the user experiences of Apple products, too rigid and inflexible. Well integrated but unable to offer alternatives many times. Give me my PC and Android phone and tablets any day!

Looks like dragon fruit = Hylocereus undatus. (It could be Stenocereus, that is very similar). Hope you have lots of room, they grow large and should be staked and tied to be more manageable. (I got rid of plant I had because the size and very sharp spines :) They can be grown from seed. This plant is also used as a rootstok for grafting and could start growing , especially if grafted plant dies.

Adermatoglyphia is 'no fingerprints'. It is not due to your work, chemicals, age. You are born without fingerprints and usually much lesser toe/foot prints. It means you are one of 5 families from Sweden area. This makes sense for me as my mother/her family were from Limburg Germany. Would like to meet others with same genetics as we would be relatives. I am not fond of DNA companies as they are bought/sold and public results can change.

I have a 4.5 ring size they do not fit any finger of mine. Make sure she can wear one.

Roarah, good point, I noticed the smallest size is a 6 and I am not even sure what her ring size is but mine is a 6 and I think hers must be smaller.

I suspect this is one of those gadgets that looks really cool to a 21 yo but ends up just not being that cool. She was only saying she was wondering about it, so not sure it will actually end up on the Santa List.

Thanks Annie....never heard of it. Interesting! My neighbor has a ring to control his Tesla car...I'd never seen one of those either, speaking of rings.

I knew she was just throwing ideas out so I wouldn’t have bought it yet anyway. Sometimes I think these are just tests: let me see what mom says when I say I want this crazy thing.

Yes, my daughters were pros at testing the waters when they were teenagers. The hmm method of parenting was my very effective mode of operation. It helped us get through the tests. Unfortunately they caught on eventually. They are in their 40's now and they have been using it with me when I make a suggestion they do not agree with.

When I read the title I was excited because one of my granddaughters likes to wear rings. I was just about to browse the net for one for her. Oh well, the oura ring is not for her either.

It's extremely bulky. Also, if she does any kind of work that involves handlebars, she'll have to take it off or it will get damaged (weight machines, chin-ups, bicycle, ladders, etc). Personally, I'd find it very uncomfortable for driving. (I have some rings that are slightly wide and thick, and I take them off for longer trips. They're not even as thick as the oura.)
