You have a basement! You can have 'give' in your flooring. You will have happy joints when you are old. We have site-finished hardwood floors with poly coat throughout the house, including kitchen; tile in bathrooms and back hall. No thresholds. 36" doors. I have had waxed floors in the past...not again. I like long boards, not the 'checkerboard' effect of short ones. Hardwood comes in parcels with both long and short boards. Tell your floor guy to buy extra parcels and toss the short boards. (Do you have a fireplace? haha) We have forced air heating and cooling with flow-through humidifiers (no mold) on the furnace. I run dehumidifiers in the basement in summer.

Checking, I will get back to you, Whatever flooring you get it may be worthwhile to purchase a box to lay it out and see the color little bit more difficult with a small samples I originally had a different color pIcked and when it delivered they stated that the colors have been darker so they brought a few boxes in and we declined chose another color that we had Purchased a box and when came they were quite a bit more red tone then got these and love love love them These are also a pretty thick engineered floor which would enable you to have more refinishing if you needed

@kenuss I believe mine is laguna vibes driftwood, I'm out of town until tomorrow but I can confirm that when I get home. Yes, I'm still very happy with it and get lots of compliments. No one knows it isn't full through real wood. It cleans beautifully. If something sticky drips in cracks you I may need to use a microfiber cloth by hand here or there but that is rare. It does have a lot of texture throughout each board with tiny grooves if you haven't actually seen a piece in person. I have 2 dogs and a parrot and other than sweeping it with a cordless hard floor vacuum with a soft roller in it a couple times a week for dog hair, beach sand & dust and moist mopping with a microfiber mop with sprayer or my mopping machine occasionally it doesn't need anything heavy duty or time consuming.

We installed Reward Flooring Roadhouse Collection, color: Maple Buckeye about 6 mths ago and LOVE it! Love the Matt finish and the maple wood, is stained beautifully and evenly. As with any project I do, I ordered a sample box to be sure color just right then ordered 20%+ extra over my needed square footage as an allowance so I didn't have to use any pieces that weren't quite right...especially if you have a lot of wide open areas.
