I agree that the black railing might be jarring. I like your third option.

Actually, I think black would be ok since you have black fencing around your pool.

Sammy, the fence is actually a dark gray color, which is another thing that bothered me with the black railing. Wasn’t sure if that would look strange

I like the cable; less busy looking. And more visibility from the deck.

I love white cable rail with a wood top, but it's a very modern look. Personally I'd match the traditional style of your front porch rail, in white.

I think white would look best. This first pic is of aluminum railing so the profile is more minimal.

Thank you all for the opinions! I definitely think that white is the way to go. I also love the look of the cable railing. And with the fence around the pool, I am afraid of spindles making it way too busy

SeattleMCM, the front porch is on my list of things to redo, so the railing will likely be different. Probably the cable rails if that’s what we go for on the deck. Would that fix the issue, in your opinion, or do you think that the whole house is too traditional to look good with the more modern railing?
