Question re Thanksgiving Turkey(s)

docmommich
last year

My brother has offererd to host Thanksgiving. We expect about 20 people (though that's likely to expand). My mom has a 22-quart roaster for the bird. But, we're wondering if two smaller birds would both fit and whether they would cook more quickly or evenly. Clearly, either plan would work, if we can fit two birds in the roaster. I'm just looking for suggestipons or ideas. I've always cooked the largest bird I could find, since my ex-husband's family is huge.

As I reminisce about geometry, I am reminded that a sphere contains the maximum volume inn the smallest space. So, one large bird would take up less space in the roaster, but provide the greatest volume of meat. Hmm.
