Is it worth waiting for a thing you absolutely adore? Absolutely! But usually, there are many things that we can adore.

Six weeks ago I placed an order for two "in stock" standing lamps / Arteriors. Delivery window 12/19 - 12/25. They were............"on the boat".

Will they make it for Xmas in her home? No. But we'll live. If they were going to ANY other room in her house? I'd have canceled, and moved on.

Mamaof4..I know it is a crazy time for furniture orders..I ordered 2 Global views end tables 13 months ago and they still won’t give a delivery date…so they have been canceled! Looked online found 2 gorgeous end tables in stock and delivered a week later! And I think I like them better than the original choice! I guess that was why I tried directing you to go for RH in stock chairs instead..but 6 months is prettynormal if not longer right now for custom pieces.

@HIWE, I do recall you mentioning wait times are April for a lot of items. I love adding the camel color to the room via the chair but I may look for an alternative that can arrive sooner.

@JAN MOYER - tough time for you as a designer bc the spaces are probably taking a lot longer to complete.

I have been looking at the pictures back and forth. What I felt is that nightstands lose their charm when seeing the bigger picture. To make them noticeable in the décor setup, a darker shade (something similar to the nightstand) could work. Plus, this could help create a cohesive interior setup.

I did get the curtain rods and I don’t know if I like them. They look bulky.

Looks better held up. I got the 28-48” rod but I am thinking I should get the next size up. When it’s extended to 48” it’s not very secure, it might bow.

Question on the curtains, should I get 94” long panels?
If I do 94”lx50”w it will be 10 pleats or rings. I used a curtain from another room in the color I want, and only hung up 10 rings to get an idea of how it will look.
Note- to the bottom of the moulding it’s 104”. I can go custom length so it does not have he be a length of 94” if a longer panel would look better.
What do you think?
This is the beige white. It is white with threads of cream.
Also, I just had my son and hubby home up rod to see look, it’s not held up to a specific height. And the lighting is my awful lighting bc it’s evening and it’s been a dreary day.

Height to top of of window moulding is 82”.
Trim and shutters around window is 36”. This curtain company says stacking width is 20% of final width. Although this West Elm rings are bulky.

I don't think the rings are bulky. And there's no way a 50 inch wide panel is bulky, or too wide for that size window. You can try two pleats on ONE ring, I do it all the time, for maximum fullness when fluffed out. They're curtains.... not drapes: ) Decide where you want to mount the rod. If top of casing is only 82 inches? Perhaps go up to 90 inches with the rod, Mount it with a few rings ON it.

Measure from the pin hole on the ring to the floor. That's your "custom" length.

@JanMoyer thanks. I will have to change the hooks that come with the curtains and try two on one ring, the hooks they come with are too bulky and don’t fit. Also, it would be two 50” panels, one on each side. The company says to order 1.2x width and I will have the rod At approximately 48” so o am actually be 2x width. I won’t need to close

Yes, I realize it's a 50 inch panel on EACH side. I think you may be over thinking a simple thing? It's a 54 inch panel, one "cut" as we call it, and by the time you have finished both panel sides? That reduces it to a 50 inch wide panel. Get your rods up, finalize your length and hang them. Your brackets are OUTSIDE you window casing at 48, since you made that your shortest length, no supporting bracket in the middle.

Remember.....You want them returned to the wall when you install. Meaning the LAST pin on each panel, each window, hangs on a small screw in the wall. That is the pro way. : ) For a good, finished look. Soft.elegant, no weird gaps. Just like this:

Thanks for the tips Jan. My new rods are not here yet, this was the smaller rod just to test curtain color in room and on rod. I will hang them when they arrive and then hopefully my curtains will arrive in 2 wks.

You put ONE ring, just past the bracket, then the VERY last pin on the screw in the wall. Just mark a little pencil spot. When you actually do it, you will understand why. Lol......write all this down.

Would a Shagreen Mirror work above the dresser? See picture attached. Looks like it’s brass with shagreen around the edges. It comes in 36” or 24”.

I probably wouldn't. The bedside are shagreen. Plenty, no more needed. Your earlier suggestions are better.

It just needs to be interesting.......and reflect light and view, and not break a bank. Right?

Happy New Year! Sorry We have had a rough Christmas…my daughter and her husband foe in for Christmas and the day after they arrived I tested positive for Covid and we all got it! So a very calm Christmas but we all were together and feel blessed we all made it through!

I ordered 94” curtains. Rod will hang around 96” or 97”.
Both of these mirrors are nice too. I do like the mirror with gold flecks on it.

I just got an email from RH that my chair has been delayed a second time and the new eta for delivery in mid June. I do love the chair but now I am open to an alternative solution. I would rather not wait that long.
Any suggestions?

I sent a message to the designer at RH to see what my options are for any replacements that might arrive sooner.

I have the rods but can’t figure out how to assemble them. Seems like it’s going to end up too long. I’m going to the showroom tomorrow to see if they can help.

The lamps have arrived, I ended up ordering Alabaster and they are very pretty.

Would this chair work? The system says it’s available for delivery in March. I kind of like that it had less wood around it, just the frame.

For anyone looking for alabaster lamps, these are so pretty. They are Safaveih.

I have a question about the brass, as I add new items, does the brass have to all be the same shade? If the West Elm rod does not work out my second choice is the PB French rod. Do I need to be concerned about the brass being the same as my handles on the drawers?
I also love the look of something like the stacking trays from RH. Of course being RH it’s way overpriced to get all four of these trays, each sold separately. If I go somewhere else, does the tone of the brass need to be the same as the handles?

As to rods? I just ordered these Amazon, came and love them. especially the price. they "blend" with all other finishes in the clients home, with a ton of windows......$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I don't agonize. ........ : ) They will do the job, beautifully. I'm still waiting on the rings . They're going into a hugely expensive open Dining/ Living room with a Steinway,,,,, GORGEOUS wool rugs, 2k alabaster V.C lamps. Sofa was scooped in a consignment as were two brand new Hickory Chair chairs with a bad fabric. all re done.

My Point? These are challenging times, there are many ways to "perfection". A much over used word, and truly? Far overrated, and rarely ever achieved......... also oddly disappointing quite often when it IS achieved. Get on with living LIFE in your space. Ask HIWE HOW IMPORTANT that is, when you find yourself compromised, and how important brass and match perfection will be : )

I’m done trying to figure out how to put the West Elm one together- it’s going back.
The current chair is not very good quality- the legs are crooked. It’s not worth reupholstering.
I think I am going to just wait for the original barrel chair I ordered.

If the chest ends up staying under the TV (I will wait for the bench and currents to go in the room and then decide) should I put an arch mirror above the fireplace? It’s 39” wide above the mantle.
