Thanks everyone! We're very happy with the outcome. Island, in reference to your q's: -The tiles, grout and paint are noted in my original post above the photographs -The sill, shelves and curb are Carrera marble and they were cut to order at a stone depot -The tile master mounted the shower shelves when laying the tile -Dimensions of the shower stall are 30 inches deep, 33 inches wide and we have 9.5 feet ceilings -We had a track mounted on the ceiling for a custom shower curtain. The space is too small for shower doors of any kind and even if they fit, would make the space inside feel claustrophobic. Hope this helps, docrck

Thanks, both of you. Bluekitobessed: I feel your pain. :) Keep me posted on your progress! Weedyacres: Yeah... wow, even DIY it sounds way more expensive than what I was hoping for. I need to have a conversation with my somewhat handy (but very, very busy) husband about what he's realistically able and willing to do. I really do think I could handle at least some of the tiling myself (first arming myself with some good advice from the knowledgeable folks here), but replacing walls and tubs... that's beyond me. And a couple of my friends have lost their jobs in the last week, which makes me even more nervous about embarking on a project that could turn out to be a money pit. In this economy, my dream of a new bathroom may have to wait. Thanks again for the help. I will try to come up with more specific questions after I speak to my husband. :)

Thanks everyone! We are so pleased to be done. Palimpsest, yes the shower head is at the back of the tub. bumble_doodle, we have an extra long curtain and it does not wrap around. Turns out that while we thought we'd need a wrap around, we actually don't at all. The water from the shower does not splash there at all thankfully.

I am replacing the current vanity with one with 3 drawers. Still deciding on a small cabinet over the toilet that matches the vanity, 18" wide with 2 closed shelves, one open one. There's only 50" from wall to wall. 25" for the vanity is the biggest I can do. I guess I could do 28, but that would need to be special ordered. I think it would be too tight. The other 25" is for the toilet and room for a waste basket. I have a pocket door into the bathroom to give me more room to walk around in the bathroom. Best thing I ever did about 15 years ago. Most of the lighting fixtures I like are 3000K which I think will be fine, warmer I know. But I don't do my makeup in the bathroom. I've been reading more about LED lights and bathrooms probably too much now. I think I have almost settled on this one over the 20" wide mirror, light fixture is 18" https://www.lampsplus.com/products/eurofase-wynn-18-inch-wide-chrome-led-bath-light__37m39.html I am using a really great contractor for renovation, but I am doing all the design work myself.
