You have a beautiful hand made bed. Paint allllll the walls navy, don't worry about daylight. You'll be surprised with a white ceiling, and gorgeous WHITE linens on a beautifully crafted bed, that you don't need anything beyond ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,LAMPS, a rug, art. And that wood floor Darkness isn't dreary. A lack of decoration and electricity are dreary. The edge to edge "builder carpet" is definitely a bit MEH and a bit dreary. . Now .....everyone here can go right ahead and beat on me . But hat's how you play up the single best element in your room. The BED. Let it be the star it can be. think they needed ship lap here? Its hard to tell, but, on my monitor, a bluish color would go very well with the flooring. I do agree, its nice to have a color in a laundry room, mud room area.

I think whites can be very tricky, they all have undertones and those undertones look different in different places. Get some poster boards and some samples you like ( try to keep it to 3) and do coats on the poster boards then move them around in the space both in natural daylight and at night . I like to use LEDs in 4000K to mimic bright sunlight so the colors stay true at night. In your case the floor color will have an impact on the wall color so test driving is the only way to get what you want.

I apologize for not being clear I want to shiplap the wall in front on the yellow barstools. My kitchen cabinets are a dark brown and an accent wall cut out is pewter. I'm having a hard time deciding on a color...do I try and match the dark cabinets or go with a color closer to the pewter accent.
