living room in condo
Comments (17)Dear all, Thanks for your input! This is the third time I've typed this message, because everytime I try to test the link, I lose everything. Mjlb, I found the table! I didn't know they made glass exapandable tables, but they do. I wouldn't go back to wood, but this is cool: http://www.defysupply.com/Expandable_dining_table_CT068D_p/ct068d-so.htm Also found some decent -looking foldable chairs: http://www.stakmore.com/products.aspx?cat=Folding%20Chairs We could have 3 or 4 "normal" chairs, and a couple of folding for our times we need 6. We're moving back to NY because that's where our friends are, so we want to be able to have dinner parties! Froofy, we do plan to have bookcases built in when we are sure of everything and that will, even in a post-war building, give us 50% more bookshelf space. The piano--hmmm...Sujafr, I'm a concert pianist who has played all over the world, so a digital won't do. We actually have one, which will live in the bedroom next to the living room with the computer and other audio components are. But it's no good for practice--rather like the NFL practicing with Nerfballs. I'd rather not have it by the window for several reasons: it's not good it to be right by the heating'cooling unit; makes it hard to reach to adjust heat/air (that's why it's about 8 inches away); it's taller than the bottom of the windows, even with the lid down, as it will be, so we'll lose a bit of light. But it seems the only way, except for the first idea I floated. I have no idea how to get actual photos into my post--but below is the link to the new version. Thanks! Here is a link that might be useful: new plans...See MoreSmall condo, living room furniture choices question
Comments (4)Thank you. Do you think it's better to use the Gervin chairs here, https://joybird.com/chairs/gervin-chair/?fabric=cordova_amber&wood_stain=mocha&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=gervin-chair&utm_campaign=google_shopping_feed&scid=scplpJB1032100-CF013-WS03&sc_intid=JB1032100-CF013-WS03&gclid=CjwKCAjwuITNBRBFEiwA9N9YEDkpjnKNveYyCi6zNOCvwfyFZ5yogfzEO2K3lAwcuVQ_UaMgABLFdRoCFQAQAvD_BwE that are exactly like the sofa, or the ones in my first post above?...See MoreCondo living room help needed!
Comments (10)IMO if you want tranquil then as little clutter as possible is th first step so IMO the shelving needs to either go or be designed to have only very special things on the shelves and few of them . What is the scale of your drawing? We need to know sizes of spaces and also that painting is very traditional so do we assume all your furniture is also. IMO that alcove would be a great place to display the painting you love. It is best to mark the measurements on the drawing but now maybe just give us the scale you used. Are you keeping the carpet? The more info we get the better help you will get....See MoreCondo cutout wall between front entrance and living room
Comments (32)Stained glass depends upon a light stream for its beauty Think about all those hours when a church’s altar focus is in the shade or the dark of night i commissioned a piece for a southern facing bay window that always looks good but there are a few hours a day when it’s not that special On an interior wall, you might be better off with a painted glass piece or crafted glued on bottle-glass piece done on an old window frame Attractive and affordable...See MoreRelated Professionals
