Which Hyssop? True Hyssop as in Hyssopus officinalis? or Agastache spp.? I started the H. officinalis last year and they do have a very camphor like minty smell! I would also consider Lavender and Salvia officinalis (Culinary Sage) and it seems like I heard/read that Nasturtium was distasteful to them too. Rabbit will eat just about anything and everything if their hungry enough though! Vera

mnwsgal, Are you referring to true Hyssop or Agastache? That is Agastache foeniculum and Hyssopus officinalis....both just common species. My older clump of the Feverfew 'Flore Pleno' was 3+ feet by as wide. I don't have the big one this year because this past winter it was ran over by a city snow plow. It is making a come back but was slow coming to start and part of the clump just never made it :( Here's a few pictures of it last year this time :) June 21st June 29th

Thanks Socks and Heathen1: I think this picture is deceptive. It's just the tops of the young plants and they were picked wet (Mexican monsoon). I think by fall they will have grown much taller with more separation between the leaves. I think the double whorls (smaller leaves inside larger leaves) is the diagnostic point. We can wait 'til fall and see if they flower like good Hyssop should.

Hyssop is a nice well behaved plant. No need to confine like mint. Mine gets about knee high, and knee wide. Delightful tea and bee plant. Enjoy! Lynn
