How can I get rid of red lava rocks?
Comments (8)I can't get rid of our lava rock, unfortunately, but I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to deal with the weeds? My husband and I just moved into a rental home with a lava rock yard in front. Not our favorite landscaping choice, but the rest of the house is nice. Landlords are not open to letting us change it, and after the first rains of the season (N. California -- East Bay) a billion weeds sprung up. I have spent a couple sessions trying to pull them by hand, but it is really impossible to get them up through those rocks (and there is some sort of black plastic tarp underneath, that is not in good shape). Can anyone offer suggestions? I am almost 7 months pregnant, so I can't really get down there to do too much more hand weeding right now, and I'd rather not use anything horribly toxic. Landlords expect us to keep up the landscaping appearance, so we need to do something soon. Thank you!!...See Morehow to get rid of ferns???
Comments (8)Bracken fern tends to be alleopathic, to the extent of killing everything in root reach (including trees) besides being really invasive. That is the reason you see whole meadows full of it and nothing else. If you want this fern, I would suggest planting it where you want ONLY ferns, like the edge of a woods or clearing and only where you have plenty of room to for it to spread. They like medium to dry soil. Ostrich fern is aggressive but not really invasive and easily dug and divided, given away to friends. It transplants really easily. It is a native fern. I have noticed over the years that most of the so-called ostrich ferns that are sold in packages in the big box stores are really cinnamon ferns.....at least that has been my experience over the last 30 years or so. I finally actually got ostrich ferns from a friend that was digging some out. They like a moist spot and will get 5' tall with enough water and sun, (I've seen them growing in Maine in 2' of water in full sun) but will tolerate dry soil also in partial shade....See MoreHow to get rid of virus when you can't get online?
Comments (25)Hi zep516, How did you know beanwabr was infected with Palladium Pro? I could not find out any info about this from beanwabr. You said my link leaded to a possible infected web site? I can tell you that this site (teesupport.com) is safe. I know this because this site keeps posting blogs (http://blog.teesupport.com/) for virus removal and legit applications uninstall instructions each day. Teesupport starts its blogs for over one year and some of blogs are even listed on the top search on Google. I do not think Google will allow sites that will damage your computer to exist for such a long time. I have also tested this site using online anti-virus scanners from various security vendors and all test show that it is a safe site. What is more, as far as I know, TeeSupport is an online company to provide remote tech support and they receive payment via PayPal or Safe Cart. Will a virus maker dare to receive payment via PayPal or Safe Cart? Talking about spam..There is a very interesting thing. See two latest posts from two different sites here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-master-utilities http://www.citruscomputers.com/2011/09/01/remove-master-utilities-uninstall-guide/ "Your computer should now be free of the Master Utilities program. If your current anti-virus solution let this infection through, you may want to consider purchasing the PRO version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to protect against these types of threats in the future." -- This is the bleeping computer site that you won't doubt. I know bleeping computer site very well and I like it so much as you guys and I just want to list an example here to support my opinion. So far, I don't think there is any pure site without promoting anything. My principal is to choose info that I need and ignore the unwanted info on the internet. If a site does not force you to buy anything in an illegal way like rogue software and it can provide you some useful info, then that is not a bad site. By the way, I admit that sometimes I will buy things from the internet because of those sites' promotion but I don't think it is bad because they provide useful things to me and I think they deserve my payment for hard work of making such useful things. Enjoy the internet! Regards, Alan_hoicns...See MoreGetting rid of mosquitoes without getting rid of your good bugs
Comments (17)I used to use the Avon SSS on both myself and my show animals! They do make one that has sunscreen and bug repellent in it but I haven't been able to get it at the flea markets anymore. I tried a natural spray on repellent from Tractor Supply but I swear when I got to the garden to start working I was attracting all kinds of wasps including the black and white ones that bite really bad so I never used it since. I am very sensitive to Deet so I have to use the lowest content which doesn't last very long. I also noticed several years ago that I was burning the plants in my big pots by the door when I sprayed down at the landing before going out. So I go out further away from the flowers before spraying but I see the tips of the grass are now burnt there too. I tried to sit out for a few minutes last evening to watch the sky to see if we had any bats but I got bitten so bad I scratched for over an hour even with alcohol rub and antiitch cream. We have a large creek (anyone from somewhere else would call it a river) right in front of the house. I bet that repellent clothing isn't cheap and how long would it last if you washed it?...See Morecarolb_w_fl_coastal_9b
