Foyer rug size?

This feels like the silliest if questions, but I need help finding a rug(s) for our foyer and everything is either too small or too big.

Our foyer is a rectangle that is 66x137 inches. The front door is on ome of the shorter sides, and the the other short side is the entrance to the living room.

One long side houses a coat closet, and the other is a doorway to a small hall/bedrooms.

What size rug do I use?? i currently have 2 3x5s thaf came from Kmart, but the roomba tried to eat one, so I am looking to replace.

I have a 4 year old, so inexpensive and washable are ideal.

Look at 5 X 7s. Have you looked at Ruggables?

Hello! If you want to cover the entire floor in a room with a rug, you need it to recede about 15.8 inches from each wall.

I think a round rug would look great in that spot! Assuming that your front door is the standard width (36"), I would do at least a 4'round rug.

If the rooms are both visible from the foyer, I would prefer that all the rugs have harmonious colors and be of a similar style. As to the shape, it's difficult to say without a picture. I find it helpful to place newspaper or a sheet on the floor in different shapes and sizes and see what looks best.

Marta - do I need to worry about how far in to the foyer the rug extends? Halfway on each window is about a 5 foot rug. So I could do a 3x5 or 4x6 rug or a 5x7 and then turn the 7 foot in to the foyer. Either of the options would extend past where the molding starts to dining room on the right in pic.

Check out Flor.com. Lots of options to put together odd-sized rugs and extremely durable. Ours have withstood three kids, three cats and a dog.

Go to a carpet store and have them cut you a rug to size from broadloom carpet, and then have the edges bound. This is easily done and not much more of an upcharge.
