Runner rug dilemma
Yes. That hallway has to have a runner. No IFs or BUTs.
No. Bare hallway's fine.
A runner would complete the look but leaving the hallway bare won't make guests think, "No runner?!"

Stair runner dilemma
Comments (22)I think your installer is full of it trying to pass that off as "correct". Chicagoan's mock up clearly shows how it should look. No one would look at that and think 'the runner isn't centered on the lower stairs'. It's obvious the newel post intrudes into the space on those 2 stairs - your brain does not register that as the runner is off center. It's a re-do and I don't think this should be on your dime even if the runner has to be scrapped and re-purchased. If nothing else, your hand rail is on the right and most people will walk up the stairs closer to the rail so the placement of the runner now is dangerous....See Moreis the 2'2"x7'6" rug the same as the runner in other KAS retreat rugs?

Comments (0)We are building a home with a foyer that is 17.5 feet long and 8.5 feet wide with 11 foot tray ceiling running the same length. We want a runner but wonder if we should save room for an entry mat at the double front doors. Also, we don't know how wide or long the runner should be, whether WITH an entry mat or WITHOUT one. Thanks in advance....See Morerug /rug runner
Comments (1)Maybe something like this for both...See MoreRelated Professionals
