White gloss cabinets and kids

Hello! Like many of you, I am in the midst of figuring out materials for 2 bathrooms to remodel. One is the master and the other is a jack and jill style bathroom for two kids (5 years apart).
I love the look of white high gloss cabinets but my designer keeps saying they do not go well with kids. She says scratches cant come out, marks, etc.
I have other high gloss furniture and its held up great so I can't decide if that is a bad idea or not.
Anyone else with young kids and white glossy cabinets for bathrooms out there??

It depends on you and your kids. Sometimes these threads delve into parenting issues. If you can teach your kids that these can be scratched easily and they tend to follow similar instructions to be careful, I don't see an issue with it.

I have been struggling with the same issue. We are doing glossy white cabinets that I am trying to mix with some vintage elements to warm it up. I am leaning towards Chroma cotton white ( it is a bit cream). I also think it is great to mix in an earthy element, so we will do a calcutta tile backsplash honed. We will add in a wooden reclaimed table. So the white is not too stark, we asked the cabinet company to try some softer whites and i am waiting for my samples now. I also think any of the colors you listed would be nice, i just couldn't get past my idea of a "white" kitchen, just trying to make it not cold.

The color will never be exact because you are using different material from what the Ikea cabinets are . Close to the naked eye is what you will get at best.

Mid America Mom - I have a glass top on that laptop/console table in the pic above and see fingerprints on that. Luckily they wipe off easily - phew! The one or two drawer fronts I've wiped off since starting to use the kitchen a couple of months ago just needed cleaning due to food splatters. I cannot see any fingerprints on the Ringhult fronts, even when I'm looking for them :-) It might be horizontal surfaces or stone and glass that show fingerprints, versus vertical glossy surfaces. OT: I'm pleasantly surprised with the FP fridge. I expected fingerprints would be showing daily. Nope, nada. I've wiped the handle a couple of times but only due to stickyness. That's it.

I would disagree. The more gloss on paint the less likely they are to scuff and the easier spills and splatters wipe off. Flat wall are a NIGHMARE! Matt finishes are all the rage but they won't hold the test of time for this very reason!!!

I have Ikea high gloss kitchen cabinets I run a catering biz from my home so often 6 people in the kitchen. My cabinets are 15 yrs old not one scratch or mark. IMO it depends on the type of material used for the finish. I have put Godmorgon bathroom cabinets in homes for a long time and the high gloss ones often no issues.

Certainly depends on the finish on the cabinetry. Some lacquer top coats can be quite durable.
