Black root infection of Japanese holly "Soft Touch"

I bought 7 Soft Touch hollies and planted them in a garden bed in my front yard, where they have a full southern exposure. Six of them have thrived so far, but one has developed several dead branches. From my internet research, it looks like Black Root. I read that this will eventually kill the holly. Is there any treatment for it? I also read that, like Hosta X virus, you can't plant another holly in the same spot lest it get infected, too. What about the next holly down the line, like a couple feet away?
